"The location was great and it was a nice property on the river, but the bunkie with a bed and bunk beds was unusable > the floor was unsafe, there was no A/C, and no screens on the windows so you couldn't open them to cool down, and it smelled strongly of mold. "We were alarmed when we pulled up to the property since the lawn didn't look like it had been mowed and the garbages were overflowing and torn up by rodents, there was a treehouse in the back that was boarded up with broken glass windows, the fire pit we were to use was completely rusted and collapsed rendering it useless. The listing said there would be things such as wifi and when we arrived we were told we had to bring our own wifi. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were wonderful, caring and welcoming. The home was beautiful as was the surrounding property. Gorgeous pond, flowers, and all sorts of beautiful plants. We would've stayed longer had there been an opening, but we would no doubt come back again on our next trip to Canada. Our room was amazingly clean, the bed was super comfortable, and so warm and inviting. Our hosts recommended a couple places to visit (a wonderful restaurant and a large art/gift shop nearby) and we followed up on their suggestions and both were exceptional! I must add that we had beautiful fall weather during our stay here which made our stay even more exceptional. We highly recommend The Gathering Place on Golden Ponds."
