We love The Empress Hotel and stay there every time we visit La Jolla. The rooms are spotless and the the breakfast room is delightful and the food is adequate for a free breakfast. Centrally located, with an extremely helpful staff, this is our home away from home!

Great location. Nice desk staff. Problems with manager and even when I asked 3 times no one came to make up the bed. Someone finally came to do it while we were in the room. So awkward. Also they wanted to overcharge me for the pets. Good size room and super location 2 blocks from beach and in the center of everything. Good breakfast.

Great pet friendly hotel. The staff is always welcoming. The only drawback, we arrived an hour before check-in and they had plenty of rooms available but due to a policy had to charge us $15 for the extra hour. Paid, but I'd prefer not to given we stay frequently when we have our dog. Other than that, great stay with the Empress!
