The Bad: The hotel failed to reply to multiple Expedia messages regarding a ferry terminal pickup. Communication is paramount. Because of this silence, my wife and I had to walk half a mile at 9:40 PM from the furthest pier, tired and carrying heavy luggage in an unfamiliar city. The Good: The hotel's recovery was outstanding. The next day, Magda the manager was genuinely concerned and went above and beyond to fix the reception lapse. She provided several complimentary drinks and paid for our airport taxi upon checkout. The Property: The hotel itself is excellent. We enjoyed beautiful sea views, a very comfortable bed, and a great breakfast. Giannis at the rooftop bar deserves a special mention for his superb, 10/10 customer service. Location: Perfectly situated. It is highly convenient for the ferries, city centre, and airport, with great bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at The Modernist Thessaloniki. The location was an easy walk to the waterfront and many sites and restaurants. The room was clean and well maintained. Minor quibbles are that the elevator is slow and the gym is very small. On the other hand, the front desk staff are extraordinary in their helpfulness; they really took the time to acquaint us with the city, recommend places to eat, and even make reservations. If we are lucky enough to return to Thessaloniki, we will most definitely stay here again.

"Great location, steps from a small beach. Stayed there toward the end of the summer season so not crowded at all. Probably because of the time of year most of the nearby restaurants within walking distance were closed or worked limited hours so be prepared to drive 10-15 mins to get a meal later ..."
