Relax with a book on the daybed with yet another view. The Rock-Ola Jukebox with 100 CDs and amazing sound takes entertaining and family connection to a new level. Enjoy while preparing meals. The Arcade provide another level of fun. Video available upon request. After a day of hiking or skiing, soak in the jetted tub and sip a glass of wine. Pamper yourself with Essential Oils during your stay with the diffusers located throughout the home. AC is available for additional comfort in the summer. For a more natural cooling experience in the evenings, a Quiet Cool system is installed and pulls in the cool evening air while eliminating the warmer air. The Castle sleeps 8 (2870 sf) with 5 sleeping areas described in the listing as Bedrooms 1-4 including a loft. Three bedrooms are on the main floor (no stairs to access). The 4th sleeping space is on the upper level and includes bunk beds, 2 twin floor mattresses, and a Foosball table. On the same level is a full bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, and veranda. The living room has a daybed as another option for sleeping. The loft is above the upper level and has a futon and an Arcade with hundreds of games. All levels have panoramic views of the lake. Guests have commented that you have to experience the views in person - the pictures don’t do it justice. The Castle is located at the end of the street at a cul-de-sac. It sits apart from neighbors on either side with just trees on the end. The Tudor House is about a mile away and provides dining and entertainment. About the Area: Lake Arrowhead, Lake Gregory, and Big Bear Lake are recreational lakes in the Southern California San Bernardino mountains. They offer fresh crisp air, cooler weather (10-15 degrees) in the summer, and snow in the winter. They also offer a more relaxed and low-key energy “vibe” making them ideal locations for getaways to renew the mind, spirit, and body and to reconnect with family and friends. We answer frequent questions regarding the lakes and have put together some information below on what makes each location unique so it is easier to match with your specific goals for your time away. Upon booking one of our properties, you will receive more detailed information on how you can spend your time in the area. Big Bear Lake is a public lake and friendly to all types of boats and water sports and is the largest lake of the three. There is a short paved bike and walking trail that goes along the lake. Big Bear is a City & is more populated with stores, restaurants, and nightlife than the other two locations. It has more of a “desert” feel in terms of its topography. Big Bear is 26 miles up the mountain from Lake Arrowhead, Although none of our properties are in Big Bear, we recommend it for a day trip. Lake Arrowhead is a private lake and is accessible to guests staying at properties with lake rights if the owners have permitted for guests to use their ALA (Arrowhead Lake Association) passes. If this is the case, the Amenity “lake access” will be checked on the listing. In our list of properties, the Gingerbread Cottage is providing lake access. With lake access, specifically, the lake trail is accessible. There is a $10 per person per day fee that is required to be paid to receive a wristband for access. More information can be found on the ALA website. Swimming is allowed from the lake trail at any location except the beach clubs (these are restricted to owners). There is no ability to launch boats or SUPs on the lake. The Village is lakefront and is the main area for shops and restaurants and has a fitness center as well. The Queen boat is a tour boat on Lake Arrowhead that provides much of the history of the town - tickets can be purchased at the shop by the lake. There is a local company that offers water skiing lessons boat tours and rentals. This area has more of a small town and alpine feel to it. The Villas area (south side of the lake) in Lake Arrowhead is cooler and gets more snow that lasts longer than the north side of the lake which gets more sun in the winter and is hotter in the summer. The Villas area is an older area with older homes and narrower streets. The Tudor House is an event center offering Sunday brunch and a variety of events. Skypark is a local attraction as well as Snow Valley for skiing for both Lake Arrowhead and Lake Gregory. Lake Arrowhead is 15 minutes up the mountain from Lake Gregory. Lake Gregory is a public lake in the town of Crestline, a small town about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain of San Bernardino. It is the closest mountain town to events and locations “down the hill”. In the past few years, the lake operations have become privately managed with significant improvements being done at the lake including the development of a water park, beach improvements, and boat, kayak, and canoe rentals. There is a fee to access the beach area and the water park and no fee to access the 2 1/2 mile trail around the lake. Fishing is allowed and more info can be found on the Lake Gregory website. Crestline has a small-town alpine feel with the lake nestled amongst the tall trees. Crestline gets less snow than the other 2 lake locations. The quaint town has restaurants, coffee shops, and thrift stores. Twin Peaks/Blue Jay sits in between Crestline and Lake Arrowhead and is convenient to both lakes. It has its restaurants, shops, and thrift stores. It is famous for its outdoor farmer’s market on Thursday afternoons (seasonal). To make this property affordable and reasonable for small groups there is an extra guest fee of $15 per person after 2 people. The house sleeps 12 if all beds are used including 2 futons and 2 floor mattresses. The 2 futons are located in the loft above the Queen room on the upper main living area. The floor mattresses are in the closet of the same Queen room.

The house was exactly same as pictures, very cozy with an amazing view of Lake. It had everything you need for a vacation home, we had a great stay and enjoyed the view and house.
The place was very clean, and hosts are nice and responsive. Super convenient location. The view from the living room was beautiful. This place had everything we needed, and I love the sustainable practices. Will definitely stay again!
We are a group of women who love to take "girls trips" and this property was perfect. We had a lovely trip and spent a great deal of time in the home, catching up, drinking champagne and looking at that incredible view!
The house is big, clean and comfortable. I needed some place quiet to work and it was perfect. The host did a great job communicating. There are a couple things that maybe could use some updating, but the big thing is the view. You have it from every window and it's beautiful. I'm looking forward to another stay.
The house was beautiful! Words can’t describe the views through out the house . My kids said it looked like AI .. great home stay with a family with kids
We enjoyed our time in the home very much. The communication with the host was excellent. The home is as advertised. It has all the cooking tools you need. The video game console was a big hit. We would rent this home again. The view from the balcony at dusk is stunning.
The view of the lake is absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. The house was fantastic and was a cozy abode to spend during this winter.
Everything was great. Beautiful place with ample supplies. I really appreciated the high quality soaps and twinkling lights that greeted us when we arrived. Those are just some of the little extras. The view is amazing and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we hope to come back next year.
what an amazing property! The pictures on the website do not do the view justice! the trees have been topped a bit showing the entire lake. the kitchen was where we spent a great deal of time together cooking. great equipment and accessories. the bed in the king room was very comfortable and another great view.garage parking also a plus. we hope to enjoy this property again.
The house is great with lots of entertainment options for kids! We had an issue that came up and I was very impressed with how Lisa and her team handled it - they were very attentive and went over-the-top with providing solutions. Great house and great team, will definitely recommend!
We had fun staying here before Thanksgiving. Kitchen could you some work but everything was nice and clean with lots of supplies. Hosts were easy to get a hold of when needed
The view was excellent! We hosted a birthday party here, and everything went smoothly. The host responded quickly to any questions, and the place was clean and well-maintained.One thing I wasn’t aware of is that this property consists of two separate units stacked on top of each other, meaning the lower unit may also have guests. Additionally, the booking process was a bit unusual—navigating to another website for the contract and details felt a little confusing, making it seem like the reservation wasn’t directly through VRBO.Overall, though, I highly recommend this place!
This property is beautiful and so well appointed. The beds are comfortable. There is plenty of tableware and cutlery. the view is spectacular! Super fun touches of the juke box and the video games. On top of that, communication with the hosts was A Some things future renters should know... of note this is ALL in the house manual, but if you don't read it before you get there, you could get surprised.1)They don't supply propane and there may or may not be some left for you from a previous guest, so plan to get some if you want to use the grill2) The garage door code did not work for us. There is a work around - come into the house and open the garage door from the inside. It is not a deal breaker, at all, it just would have been nice if it had been working.
This house had the best views of the lake and forrest from both levels. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is large with everything you need. Sky Park at Santa's Village is less than 10 minutes away and fun for the whole family. They have a bike park (lots of fun), hiking, a climbing wall, archery, axe throwing, and more. We were there after Memorial Day and there were very few people there.
Big Bear Lake is about a 40 minute drive and you can rent a boat there. Also, lots of hiking/biking trails.
Lake Arrowhead village is a 5 minute drive (>1 hour walking downhill) and there is a grocery store, shopping and restaurants on the waterfront. We had a great trip!
We hit a few snags but overall my family was very happy with our 3 night stay. The location is great and there are many comfy spots to relax and take in the views. The TV and gas fireplaces were perfect, the living room comfortably seated 6, kitchen and dining area are huge and well-appointed and the downstairs beds were comfortable. Early check-in/late check-out, when available, costs extra. Online check-in is the most thorough I have experienced, requiring uploading a selfie and providing licence plate number(s) before receiving your access code. I'd recommend this for 1-2 compact to midsized car(s) because parking was extremely tight with our Tundra. I also recommend making sure you can turn on the tub faucet before you're cold, tired and ready for your soak. I messaged the owner with a few issues and she was very helpful.
We had three adult couples for a 4 night/5 day stay in early/mid December. Booking, check-in and communication were very smooth and the description of the place is accurate. The two bedrooms with lake views had king size beds and adjoining bathrooms. The "main" bathroom has a jacuzzi tub with handheld shower head (not wall mounted). The other downstairs bathroom (as described) also has access from the hallway. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed and no adjoining bathroom. We were originally going to share the second downstairs bathroom but ended up using the full bathroom upstairs for the third bedroom since it was just as easy. The full bathroom upstairs is large with a glass shower.
The views are gorgeous. Full lake views from the dining room, living room and deck as well as two of the bedrooms. We spent most evenings at the dining table playing games and doing puzzles but could just as comfortably sat in the living room watching movies in front of the fireplace.
The kitchen had everything we needed. The only issue was that the water took awhile to get hot, which is understandable in a mountain home during winter.
We easily parked two mid-size suvs in the garage and one sedan in the driveway. The driveway is short and fairly steep so it could be a challenge to pull out if it was snowy or icy but we had crisp sunshine and didn't have any problems.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay and are discussing coming back next year at about the same time.
We stayed one night for a quick but very relaxing stay. Beds were very comfortable. The home was beautiful. Whole experience was really great. We’ll be back!
