About this property

The Pelican on Frazar offers charm, character, and cozy Louisiana comfort.

  • Bienvenue, cher,
Nestled under grand, mature live oaks in the heart of Lake Charles, The Pelican on Frazar is a charming historic home filled with original character — crystal door knobs, hardwood floors throughout, and warm Louisiana Cajun-French décor.
Enjoy true Southwest Louisiana hospitality while staying minutes from McNeese State University (0.6 mi), Lake Charles Regional Airport (3.9 mi), and the casino area (5.5 mi).
The Pelican on Frazar is a lovingly preserved historic home filled with character, charm, and original details that reflect its age and history. Guests can expect hardwood floors, vintage features, and a warm Louisiana atmosphere rather than a modern, newly built space. The home is comfortable, inviting, and designed for relaxing, gathering, and enjoying a slower pace beneath the live oaks.
Because of the home’s historic nature, you may notice natural quirks that come with older homes — part of the charm that makes this stay unique. We’ve thoughtfully maintained the property to provide comfort while preserving its original character and Southern hospitality.
    Laissez les bons temps rouler.

I think an out door space in the back will be nice, especially if you have mood lighting and fire pit for night sitting. I loved the front porch space with the view of the big tree early morning coffee- excellent coffee too. I brought my own hair dryer and I did need an iron and ironing board but chose to wear something else. Otherwise you offered great options in the kitchen and plenty of linens which were awesome. The drain for the sink in the main bathroom was slow off and on. It would clear itself if the toilet was flushed. We did not turn on the TV at all. I’m glad because we needed to do other things instead of that. Would love to come again.

Super cute house. We were only there over the weekend to visit our son, but everything was very comfortable. Communication was perfect and checking in/out were a breeze. It was too hot to hang out outside, but there is a nice big yard.
