"The place was very new, clean, comfortable, quiet & relaxing. Great location, too. Basically right next to the north entrance of Itasca State Park where we spent our time. After a long day of exploring & hiking, we looked forward to relaxing back at our room, sleeping in comfortable beds with A/C & running water. To us it was the best way to go “camping”. There is an ice cream/gift shop next door to our unit where we treated ourselves to ice cream cones. And across the street is a general store/gas station if you need to purchase convenience items. We would definitely stay there again. "

"This lovely little motel was exactly what we needed, a home base while we explored & hiked, visited w friendly locals & ate great walleye. Christine was quick & easy to communicate with, and our room was squeaky clean!"

"We had a large group stay for a week at this property and had the best time! It had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We had ample room for all of our vehicles to park, along with space for a boat. The extra fridge in the garage was a huge bonus. The kitchen was well stocked with starter supplies, and all the utensils you could need. They had a large assortment of games to play and the kids loved the upstairs toy area! We were able to catch many fish right from the dock, including Northerns, Bass, and Panfish! The kids loved playing on the beach and using the included kayaks/paddle boards! We rented the pontoon for the week and took it out on the lake multiple times. Amy was great about showing us how to get everything going. The property was well kept and Amy was great to work with! "

"We enjoy all of the features of this place and the privacy. Great view of lake, plenty of space and special touches to welcome guests. Had a nice bonfire one night (dry wood is provided). Plenty of room with more than one level for guest. Love the outdoor balcony too."

"The cabin is warm, inviting and cozy with all the modern conveniences. Even my kids will drink the water from either the tap or the fridge. Private setting, a few ATVs drove by, neighboring homes not visible or loud. Only mental note I’ve made is that the road immediately leading to the cabin is soft, much better suited to a truck/SUV than a sedan. We will drive a different vehicle next time."

"Great price, Great place. Area outside needs TLC but May is the beginning of season and spring in MN doesn’t start until the day before summer starts. I will be back."

"My wife and I (and our 16-year old dog) came. My wife and I wanted to see the headwaters of the Mississippi. Our dog, blind and deaf, just wanted to be with us. It is a great location, and we really enjoyed the flock of wild turkeys that visited. This was the last trip our dog took with us (we had to put him to sleep shortly after we returned home). I think of Big Timbers with fondness as the last really good memory of our time with the dog."
