Lone Star Retreat # 3 at Lake Junaluska is a charming 1BR apartment with a 60' deck overlooking the lake. PET FRIENDLY, private firepit w/ deck seating, free access to pool, tennis, FAST WiFi. Located on the south side of the lake where its peaceful & quiet. Apt is complete with amenities for a long weekend or an extended stay. 10 min to restaurants, shops & grocery stores. Four golf courses within 5-15 min, ski Cataloochee Mt. 20 min away. Ask about our other properties if we're booked!

Charming 700 sq ft eco-friendly 1 BR/1BA apartment located on the lower level of our home. Private entrance off the spacious 60' deck with breathtaking views of the lake & mountains. We're nestled in a gorgeous wooded area with a tree-house feel! We live in the upper level of the house but always give our guests complete privacy! Must be able to navigate short flights of stairs down to apartment from parking area (as shown in photos). Walk to the lake (includes some hills) in 5-10 minutes.

REC CENTER / CLUBHOUSE ACCESS:
- 2 complimentary day passes to access to Lake Junaluska pool & rec area. Playground, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, shuffleboard & putt-putt golf. Paddle boards, canoes, kayaks & tennis racquets may be rented at Lake Junaluska Rec hut. Water sport amenities available Memorial Day - Labor Day.

We live year-round upstairs on the first level of the house and are available by phone 24-7. We give our guests complete privacy, but are available to help with recommendations and/or directions if you need us!

Paradise for outdoor enthusiasts! Lake Junaluska is a 200 acre lake that is home to bald eagles, swans, Canadian geese & more. Year-round golf, tennis, fishing (NC fishing license required) and walking/biking on the 3.8 mile paved path around the lake. Seasonal pool, paddle board & kayak rentals, mini golf, and shuffleboard. Nestled between the Great Smoky Mountains and The Blue Ridge, we’re surrounded by amazing hiking trails and waterfalls.

- 2 pet limit per reservation - 70 pound weight limit per dog
- $75 non-refundable pet fee
- Rentals exceeding 13 nights, the pet fee is assessed per dog
- Dogs MUST be fully housebroken

-Cleaning Fee $75. For stays of 21 nts or more, a mid-stay cleaning required

July 2024 Vacation Stay

We enjoyed staying at the Lone Star Retreat. The unit was nice and clean and it had a pretty view of the lake. There are lots of beautiful flowers and trees on the property too. We had a great time walking around the lake and also going to Waynesville, Asheville and some waterfall hikes.

Our second visit to Lonestar 3 at Lake Junaluska

We enjoyed our short stay but had to leave early due to weather from hurricane Helena. The apartment was very comfortable, well appointed and stocked with basic provisions (paper towels, etc.), and a generous supply of welcome snacks. It's a perfect location and ideal for our two small Westies and their morning and afternoon walks through a beautiful neighborhood overlooking Lake Junaluska.

Lone Star Retreat was a wonderful rental. Spotless, nicely decorated, well equipped kitchen and in a quiet, lovely and peaceful location with a great view of Lake Junaluska. Thank you to Van and Carolyn for being such gracious hosts.

Just as pictured in listing. This property was exceptionally clean, bed was comfortable, updated appliances and large corner window allowing for plenty of light and of course the view of the lake.

This place is so cute, and the views are awesome! The property is extremely well-kept and is tucked up away from everything, but still close and convenient to a good amount of things. My husband and I prefer to keep to ourselves, and the hosts respected that while still being super accommodating. I would highly recommend this place!

We had a great time in NC. The place was clean and comfy. Loved the puppusses's, Maize and Bentley. Very nice stay. A quick suggestion, instead of the big rocks out front to designate parking maybe a couple of big flower boxes or planters. I clipped one of them when we were leaving.. :(

Wonderful getaway

The Lone Star Retreat was a beautiful place. I enjoyed being able to sit on the porch and watch the lake and trees in cool weather (which, now that I’m back in Texas, I won’t see again until maybe February). I wish I could have given more than 5 stars. Carolyn was a gracious host, attentive but not intrusive. Wish I were back there…

Beautiful home with GREAT views!

We really enjoyed our visit to the "Lone Star Retreat". The home was beautifully decorated, beds were very comfortable, and the view of the lake was outstanding! The only thing better than the home, were the owners who lived above. When we arrived, they came out to greet us and offered to help unload our car...incredibly gracious! And, although they never disturbed us during our stay, they were always available to answer any questions we had about the area. Highly recommend staying here!!
