Great house!
The location of this house was about perfect - it's remote enough that you feel as if you're staying on a mountain by yourself, but it's close enough to town that you can easily get to a restaurant in 5-10 minutes. The house was clean and has a rustic feel with log cabin and western decor. Views of the surrounding mountains are stunning even in winter, and the dark skies provided excellent stargazing opportunities at night. The kitchen is large and well stocked with basic cookware, dishes, and utensils, and the two dining areas (one inside and one outside under a roof on the large back deck) offer plenty of space for eating, playing games, or putting together a puzzle. The upstairs bedroom is great if you or someone you're traveling with has mobility issues, and the downstairs bedrooms are spacious and each have their own bathroom. The beds were firm but comfortable and had clean and soft linens. The pool table downstairs is smaller than standard, but it was still fun to play with and is a great focal point of the downstairs common area (which has a love seat, dorm-sized refrigerator for drinks, and a high-top table and chairs). We had a small issue upon arrival that was quickly handled by Carolina Properties even though it was after normal business hours. The only downside is the super steep driveway that required us to put our front-wheel drive vehicle in low to get up (and we still spun the tires several times!), so having an all-wheel drive vehicle would be nice.
