"Unfortunately for this hotel, the local Egret birds nest right outside and it is stinky and messy. Also, all of the bottom floor rooms flooded during the 4th of July floods in the area. The hotel moved our rooms, but it was still an inconvenience. "

"Really enjoyed our stay in this home! We ended up booking for a rainy weekend but the house was big enough for the group to still have fun in each other’s company! The back patio area was so beautiful and we enjoyed what time we could outside. The house has everything you need and is close to a lot of the fun activities nearby. Perfect for a river trip!"
"We had an absolutely amazing time at this beautiful home on Lake McQueeny. The house was spotless, spacious, and perfectly set up for a relaxing and fun getaway. From morning coffee on the deck, the awesome views of the area and lake, and the convenience of being somewhat close to Gruene and NB, every moment was peaceful and memorable. The home had everything we needed and more. It was clear a lot of thought went into making guests feel comfortable and welcome.A special shoutout to Shannon, the property manager, and Jack the owner who was incredibly kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with from start to finish. They both made the entire booking and check-in process smooth and stress free.We’re already looking forward to our next stay and will definitely be booking again with the same wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside retreat or fun stay in the area!"

"The house is nice. It’s a good property with a nice yard. It’s quiet and the house was reasonably clean, but it’s obviously a property in decline. I do not believe the owners are paying attention to maintaining the property to maintain a five star rating. The pool was obviously not well taken care of, the patio area and deck were not prepared for guests. There were leaves, broken chairs and garbage obviously having been there for a long time that they have just left in a pile. The shower room by the river was dirty and smelled bad. The downstairs toilet rocks when you sit on it. The furniture is broken down. The bbq grill is broken. These are all examples of lack of attention. However the beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked. Additionally, the cleaning service showed up at 10:30 and told us we were supposed to be gone. Check out is at 11. Our vehicle was in the driveway so she knew we were still here. Would I stay here again…….no"
