"Stay here frequently on our trips north. Friendly. Staff, convenient location, dinning was close. Breakfast was ok. No milk that we found but the rest was fine. Room had no shampoo. We always bring our own just in case. "

"Quaint. Lake of Egypt area and out of the bustle of Marion proper. A little dated; but pretty good bang for your buck. Rooms are nice. Beds are comfortable and if you want a hint of curry...you may want to bring some. Stay here - a no nonsense inn."

"Itcwas a very nice, relaxing and wonderful location. Step out the back ams the water front is there. There were a couple docks that you coyld walk out on and also several kayaks to use. Had a great time, would stay there again. "

"Nice, clean, comfortable home on Lake with plenty of outdoor space for visiting or just having a quiet moment! Beautiful views and we took full advantage of fire pit and dock. Perfect for our families weekend getaway! Host/hostess were very responsive ahead of and during our stay. We plan to come back!!!"

"My husband and I came with our dog to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Our dog absolutely loved playing with the property dog, Kevin, in and out of the water. We spent our time hiking different areas in Shawnee, and thought this cabin was a great central location. The firepit (with free wood), patio set up and location were absolutely perfect! Marion has an adorable town square that is a 10 minute drive away. We had some fabulous meals in Marion, so we didn't do any cooking at the cabin. However, it appeared to be fully stocked if you wanted to prepare some meals at home.This was our first time visiting the Shawnee National Forest area and it certainly won't be our last! Highly recommend this cabin as your launching point for exploring."
