The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in significant changes to how we travel. If you're planning a trip to Lake Sarnen, the following tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Investigate what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book your flight.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Anyone refusing to wear a face mask may be fined and denied entry.
• Instead of handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed from your bag for scanning.
• To reduce handling during screening, place personal items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• If you're bringing food through security screening, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
