Gorgeous Knotty Pine Home on Westshore. Walk to Beach/Pier Access
Our family-owned cabin is on “The Gold Coast” of Lake Tahoe. Perfect for families, we are 3 blocks to Tahoe Pines public beach and rental includes pier access. We are also walking distance to hiking trails in Blackwood Canyon (including the Gnome Village), Desolation Wilderness, and Eagle Rock which provides a birds-eye view of the lake. Access to mountain biking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing - all without getting in a car. Homewood Ski Area is 1.5 miles away, Tahoe City is 5 miles, and both Alpine Meadows and Palisades Ski Resorts are a 15-minute drive.
But there is no need to leave Tahoe Pines! We are located in a family-friendly and low-key neighborhood. The cabin sits on a large lot with front and rear decks, a horseshoe pit, darts, tree swing and BBQ (all available May-November due to snow). There is a brick fireplace with plenty of wood provided and forced air heat to keep you warm in the winter. Beautiful trees on the property will keep you cool in the summer. The 5G Wifi is suitable for remote work/school with multiple users. Two flat screen TVs (with Netflix, and Apple TV), BluRay DVD can entertain you, and ceiling speakers play your favorite music. The kitchen is fully stocked with home chefs in mind. Large dining room table with bench seating for family games and sharing meals. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes and serving platters/bowls for family meals. We have a microwave, coffee maker, espresso machine, SodaStream bubbly water maker, ice maker and dishwasher to make meal prep and clean-up a breeze. Bring your favorite food and snacks and you are set to go!
Children and adults love our neighborhood with its off-the-beaten-path vibe, flat roads for kid biking, and easy access to nature activities. In the summer you can’t beat the outdoor dining under the pines after rounds of darts and horseshoes. In the winter, stoke up a fire after a day of snow play.
The cabin has 4 bedrooms: Upstairs you'll find 1 Master Bedroom with King and Private Bathroom; a "Bonus" TV room with futon couch; 1 Queen with shared bathroom with tub. Downstairs you'll find 1 Queen and Bunk Room with Two Twins, Private Bath. There is indoor space for everyone!
House layout: Downstairs - Living room, dining room, kitchen with large dining room table, bench seating, pantry, Bathroom 1, Queen and Bunk Room with two twin bunks. Upstairs - Primary California king master bedroom with 2nd bathroom and desk workspace; Queen bedroom; plus “bonus rooms” with a flatscreen TV and queen futon couch, 3rd bathroom. All bathrooms have heated floors.
Note: There is ample parking during summer. Winter plowing provides room for two cars with enough depth for a 3rd to park them in.

My family and I had an excellent time at this property. Fun rooms for kids, spacious rooms for adults. The kitchen was clean and had tons of cookware, storage, etc. The front and back deck were great for dining. Super close to the beach! Overall, we had a great vacation and will be back next summer!
There are so many positives to share! The location of the rental was perfect for a busy Fourth of July holiday. The proximity to the beach was great! Our family loved the house. It had personality and charm and the neighborhood was safe and quiet. The kitchen was stocked better than I have ever experienced at a vacation rental. The owner of the family home was very responsive and helpful in answering all questions and addressing all concerns. (Sadly, the property manager was disappointing.)
Our primary focus for this vacation was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family. Mission accomplished! We played card games; we prepared and ate all our meals at the house; we took family photos; we sat and talked; we hiked; we watched fireworks; and we hugged and said how much we value our family!
In general, we liked our stay here. However, we bought a lot of meat and wanted to have bbq a few days but the grill was closed for the winter season and nobody told us about it before arrival.
Also, there was no hairdryer and snow wasn’t cleaned up around the house.
Upon entering the property our first impression is that the home is well loved. It is very close to the water with a short walk to the pier. Property is close to both Sunnyside and Homewood. The owners keep many personal items there but in turn there is a well-stocked pantry. The beds are very comfy. The layout is a little funky-there is a room attached to the master that houses a bed and a very cool secret door over a dormer with 2 twins. There are 2 baths upstairs and 1downstairs. The downstairs bedroom has a queen with a bunk room off that. The laundry is hidden in the downstairs bath. Think this is a great space for families with little kids. The kitchen is pretty well stocked. Our only small wish is that there were screens on all the windows. We forgot to close an upstairs bathroom and had a nocturnal visitor in our bedroom-wild kingdom! I would bring extra TP, ziplock bags, paper towels and sponges.
Overall the property was great. My family and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving week here at the cabin. The property manager was easy to communicate with. I did not message her during my stay since there was no need too. Everything was easy to access and pretty straightforward. Overall I give this cabin a 8.5/10 and this is a good review since I'm a reasonable critique. Below I will list Pros and Cons of the property.
Pros:
- Beautiful Kitchen that was remodeled.
- Ceiling speakers enlighten everyones energy with music.
- Rooms were comfy & bathrooms were clean
- Heater work extremely well (extra point for me were the floor heaters)
- Warm water
- Friendly neighbors
- Living room was comfy as well
- Owner provided utensils
- Fast WiFi
- TV had good channels including college and professional league sports, and Netflix.
- Eagle Rock Trail is about 1 minute driving distance from the cabin. Tahoe City is about 10-15 minutes away. There is a nearby biking road/trail.
Cons:
- This was something small to me but during our 5 night stay, we saw about 3 small spiders. I've been through worse so this is not bad but understandable since this cabins is in the woods of Tahoe.
- There were a few spider webs in the living room.
- Couches were a bit dirty
- The door in the first floor bathroom did not feel secured
- Ceiling speakers were not connected when I arrived. Spent about 20-30 minutes figuring that out.
Overall great stay. I would recommend to anyone and would stay here again.
We had a wonderful family vacation at Tahoe Pines. The house was clean, nicely appointed with a great well stocked kitchen, laundry, and plenty of space for everyone. The location was perfect with an easy walk to lake where we paddle boarded and kayaked daily. Access to the neighborhood dock was a bonus and the bike trail was seconds away. Owner was extremely responsive and it was obvious this was a home not just a rental. We hope to stay here again!
We had the most lovely stay at this home in Tahoe Pines. The location could not have been more perfect for us! Quiet neighborhood, close to the beach, Blackwood Canyon, Eagle Rock and Sunnyside. The kitchen was well stocked with the cooking equipment we needed….the home was tidy and the beds were comfortable. Our two kids (ages 10 and 13) loved playing darts in the backyard and also enjoyed riding bikes in the neighborhood! It was overall the best trip and a great home. We highly recommend it!
Excellent property, looked and smelled clean. Plenty of room for our group. Great neighborhood.
There were a lot of spiders in the home though and the last two days there were a lot of ants and ?termites. We also never found the pier key. Overall it was a great home, we really enjoyed our stay here!
A great house and amazing for families with little kids! Had everything you may need to enjoy your stay and was clean and overall a perfect vacation house! Would love to come back in the summer months and be able to enjoy the wonderful deck! Sledding was awesome between the homes and neighbors were all super friendly!
We escaped to the snow for a long weekend, and this place was perfect for our needs. Plenty of beds/bathrooms, large kitchen and dining table, close to skiing and snow parks. The house was very clean, and well stocked. The kids had a blast!
What a fabulous property! We had the best time at this gorgeous home. Our family ranges from 2 mo - 80 yrs old, and I can say everyone had a wonderful time. The home was very well kept and clean. The instructions for arrival and departure were extremely clear and the owner was quick to answer questions throughout our entire stay. It was a quick walk to the lake only a few blocks away, which we ventured to multiple times a day. Westshore market was only a couple miles north and great for last minute needs. We will definitely return soon!
This nice home feels like a carefully updated and well-equipped family vacation home. The host was very responsive and helpful, the home comfortable and clean, the neighborhood quiet and pleasant, access to the beach reasonable (1/4 mile), and the overall experience pleasant for our family.

A cozy Thanksgiving stay in Tahoe Pines
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday up at Tahoe Pines in this lovely home. It’s just as described and very large and comfortable, well situated on a quiet street right near the lake, and not too far from Tahoe City. There is a nice and well stocked kitchen if you like to cook. House is recently renovated with nice modern bathrooms. The owner is very responsive. We’d love to stay there again!
