Wonderful relaxing stay

We stayed at retreat number 3 and found it to be better than described, the house has plenty of room for everyone, a fabulous view and location right on the lake, plenty of amenities to enjoy out getaway stress free, Lori was quick to respond to any needs or concerns, we will be back next year!

Awesome!!

We stayed here in July and it was awesome to anchor the boats in front of the house! Water was close enough for many daily swims and paddle boarding ❤️ the host communicated instantly and we had a wonderful time.

Nice house, great location, breathtaking views!

I rented this house for a girl's trip, for my daughter's 30th birthday. There were 7 of us staying at the house. The house was clean, well stocked and easy to find. Plenty of comfortable beds, and the living room / dining room easily accommodated us all. The water level was low during our stay, but the lake was still just a very short walk to get to. We all really enjoyed our weekend - I would rent here again.

Great Family Lake House

We have a large family and this house was perfect, everyone fit and had plenty of space to spread out. We loved The fact that it is lakefront makes it so easy to access the water. We loved having the extra water toys the house supplied, every kid had something to use in the water. Kitchen was fully equipped and had everything our family forgot. All in all we had a great time. Will stay again for our next family function. 5 stars! Highly recommend for families :)

Working Retreat!

My company had a three week project in Redding and thought this retreat would be a great opportunity for the men to stay instead of typical hotel rooms for 3 weeks. My installers really enjoyed the space, home cooking and relaxing on the porch! A little fishing at the lake in the evening! Everything was outstanding, the home, the condition of everything and the hosts Dave and Lori! Would not hesitate to book this great retreat again. Thank You!

Our favorite vacation

We’ve been renting retreat number three since summer 2020. It’s become our absolute favorite vacation! We come for 10 days and bring our two small babies and our family and our dogs. The house is so amazing and we love the location. We are so grateful that the Rauns allow us to bring our dogs to enjoy the lake too! This has become our family tradition and we can’t wait to come back next summer 2024! Thank you to Dave and Lori for being so accommodating. Love the Penna family ❤️

Home well stocked with amazing views and lake access

Our family rented two houses for a mini family reunion. Everyone had a great time, ages 1 to 73 years old and an array of ages in between! We all agree that this was one of the most well appointed VRBO homes we’ve ever stayed in, including anything one would need in an emergency. We all loved the layout of this home, the big windows and wrap around deck, especially the spacious master bedroom. I absolutely love that kayaks were provided as well as life vests in all sizes. The only thing we’d change is that next time we will come when the lake level is higher so that we don’t have to haul the boating gear as far up the hill when we’re finished on the water.

Beautiful house

This house is absolutely beautiful. It is a little dated as others have stated, but it adds to the charm. Plenty of room for everybody in our group. Very quick walk down to the lake and we enjoyed the kayaks out on the lake for multiple days. Having satellite TV was a huge plus for my family who loves sports. They even left us a bottle of margarita as a welcoming gift. I would definitely recommend this house. You won’t be sorry.

Small family reunion with ample space in house number 3

Writing this review for house number 3. We had more than enough room for everyone, and the house was very comfortable. The front decking was a gem. We did a lot of hanging out here as it was well shaded and plenty of chairs and a couple of tables. It was quite warm so only a couple people use the jacuzzi but commented that it was clean and well kept. It is a two story so the very top room is a loft with open air which made this room a little hot.The air conditioning doesn't work as well up there. But all in all was still comfortable. Like I said I think it was 102 the second day we were there. Which brings us all down to the lake for happy memories. The terrain is a little sloped all around so be aware of this especially if you have small children. We had one. A bit rocky but the benefit of having rocks over sand is that you don't have a lot of muck being stirred up so I did appreciate that. It kept the water clear and nice for swimming. Had a great time and had great hosts. Thank you! Response time for email questions was quick as well. Great family reunion at Shasta Lake House number 3.:-)

Absolutely Amazing Stay!

Lori and Dave were incredible hosts—responsive, thoughtful, and welcoming. The cabin was absolutely immaculate and stocked with everything you could possibly need. This is by far the most impressive rental I’ve ever stayed at. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made it so easy to cook without having to improvise or bring extra gear. Communication was top-notch before, during, and even after our stay. We loved it so much, we’ve already booked our return trip!

Amazing View and comfortable house

We loved Retreat #3. Very clean when we arrived and smelled clean. House was comfortable and very well equipped. Newly remodeled kitchen was nice. House is older but you can tell it has been well taken care of. The view of the lake was absolutely AMAZING! Very close to Sugarloaf Marina. The driveway was very steep and not ideal to park your boat in the driveway, but not bad for your cars and trucks. If I had any complaint at all, it would be the bed pillows were very flat. That’s just not my thing and I will bring my own next time I stay. We will be staying here again.

Lakefront views are the best of any of the dozen or so homes we’ve stayed. Owners are very helpful.

From the time I reserved until after we left the owners were awesome. House is beautiful and has the best views of the lake.

The wooden floor is beautiful, but it felt a little greasy. I'm not sure if it's from the cleaning or care product used on the wood, but as someone who likes to walk barefoot, I could really feel it. On the last day, I also found a couple of insects in the main room, though fortunately they weren't anything dangerous.The view of the lake is amazing and very relaxing. However, it looks very different from the photos. The drought has significantly lowered the water level.Overall, the cabin is very cozy and spacious, with everything you need for your vacation. The hosts are very kind and respond promptly.

Fantastic Lake front multi-family rental

We had the BEST time at Retreat 3. It is right on the lake, very easy access down to the water (when lake is full). It is super safe for children and parents can watch from the porch. The house is VERY well equipped. We wanted for nothing. The entire house was comfortable for our group of 8 - had plenty of room to spread out and hang around. The outside mini fridge, bbq and patio set were awesome for late nights. We will be back again soon!

Never Disappoints

Where do I begin? We have claimed retreat #3 as our own. We have stayed in this particular home twice now and have booked it for a few weekends next season as well. We refer to it as "our lake house". The homey, welcoming feeling we have during our entire stay has prompted us to include family and friends in our visits to Shasta Lake. Dave and Lori are BEYOND the best hosts anywhere. They are quick to respond, react and make right anything that might need attention (not that we have had any issues other than my questions more about the lake than the home). We look forward to many more memory making weekends on the lake with a BIG THANK YOU to Dave and Lori for helping us relax and providing exceptional customer service and welcoming homes for us to enjoy year after year.

Right on the Lake

The house has recently been remodeled and the owners did a fantastic job! Everything was neat and tidy and well appointed. Would definitely recommend this property. It’s located directly on the lake in a quite neighborhood.

Wonderful home and property

We had a delightful time here. The home was perfect for our group. Large common areas, plenty of bedrooms, the wrap around shaded deck. The proximity to the lake was amazing. Lori was an attentive host; it was apparent that Lori takes a lot of pride in her property. Highly recommended.
