"Only reason I stayed here was because there was a deal for half off the 3 bedroom (2 queen beds and 2 twin). We reserved and went to property, but the guy without saying a word switched us to the smallest room (1 bed). We had to go back and he insisted despite proof of our reservation that we had to pay twice as much if we wanted our initial room.
Once we paid the additional price, we were given a decent sized room. The shower didn't drain, the toilet gasket leaked, the wall boards were moldy, someone else's food was in the kitchen, the dishwasher was not anchored and almost fell on my daughter, there was glass on the floor of one bedroom, lightbulbs were missing, one step on the stairs is halfway broken off...we paid for one more night while we made other arrangements. The new guy at the counter was just as rude and entitled.
I see now why this hotel is more known for drug dealers and prostitutes. Not family friendly or any other kind of friendly."
"1 Star – Predatory Fees, Religious Discrimination, Zero Accountability
Hotel Ruby in Spokane charged me a $22 "entertainment fee" , a thinly veiled alcohol charge from their bar, without disclosing it anywhere in my reservation. When I checked in and explicitly told the front desk agent that I do not drink alcohol for religious reasons and would not accept the charge, he looked me in the eye and told me it was policy. End of discussion.
That's not policy. That's forcing a charge on a guest for something they don't want, didn't use, and objected to on religious grounds.
I then contacted Expedia three separate times to dispute the charge. Each agent offered sympathy, vague promises to "email the property manager," and one even tried to buy my silence with a $50 credit toward a future booking, as if I'd ever book through them again. No refund was issued. No one took responsibility. Expedia's final answer was essentially: the hotel won't budge, so good luck.
Let's be clear, Expedia failed to disclose mandatory fees at the time of booking, failed to advocate for their customer, and then had the audacity to suggest I use a discount credit on a future reservation. There won't be one.
This isn't a misunderstanding. It's deceptive billing, and both Hotel Ruby and Expedia own it equally. Stay somewhere that respects its guests."
"The hotel was clean and updated. The front desk staff were not friendly, or at least one of them wasn’t. For a nice hotel, they should be more welcoming. The area is beautiful but you do need to walk at least 15 min to get to restaurants, so if the weather is bad you’d need to have a car or Uber."
