I had been to the Black Lion three years before visiting the area my kin folks left in 1838 to come to Ohio. The accommodations and the meals were great. We went to the Welsh Library in Aberystwyth and hit the mother load of information of our ancestors in Lampter and Betws Bledrws.

We had a great stay. Although our initial room was clean and well-maintained, it lacked WiFi access. However, the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and promptly moved us to a larger room with a fantastic internet connection. We were very pleased with the service. Additionally, there was sufficient parking available at the back of the property, and the complimentary breakfast offered a good selection of continental options along with made-to-order hot food. We truly enjoyed our time there!

Secure parking at rear of property. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. The extractor in the bathroom was either not working or not efficient enough to clear the steam from the room. Also if you want me to use the excellent towels for a second day, a heated towel rail needed , or any towel rail to hang the bath towel after first use.

The staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the food was good.. I could not recommend this place a more. The manager who I cannot remember the name of was such a friendly lady and even refunded one of our rooms without us asking as we had a late cancellation..

The dining area was lovely, and the breakfast was small, but very good. The bar area was good and there was ample parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, although the housekeeping team and waitresses would benefit from some training. The bed was very comfortable, but the bedroom was lacking the niceties. It was however, good value for money. Lampeter itself is very small, and I fear for it, with its loos of the University.

Great experience

Lovely service from the moment we set foot in the hotel to leaving from the friendly staff. Check in was quick and easy. Our room on the second floor was clean, spacious and well equipped. The bed was super comfy and the room was quiet at night, even though we overlooked the street. The bathroom was very clean with lovely toiletries. We had an evening meal which was delicious and also breakfast which was equally as good. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Pleasant one night stay, rubbish water pressure.

One night stay en route to Cardigan. The single room was spacious enough for me with a big tv, nice bathroom and a nice big window letting in natural light. The floors were a bit creaky in and outside the room and the water pressure wasn't great. Other than that it was a lovely stay with helpful and friendly staff.

My wife’s parents got married in this property 70 years ago, so we decided to stay here as part of our family history trip. The building is from the 1700s but it has been updated and has a ton of charm. The key boxes were all checked: the bed was comfortable, it was quiet at night and the water pressure was good. A full welsh breakfast was included. We also had dinner in the restaurant. It was a bit pricey but tasty. The staff was wonderful: hard working and attentive. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was not great breakfast was poor as staff this were running late due to being locked out of hotel. Water pressure in room was rubbish, bath didn't hold water. Very noisy heating system. Staff were friendly enough hotel was clean and well presented.
