The beach is lovely and there are several boutique shops on site. This was the best hotel better than the Hyatt on Waikīkī."

"This is a beautiful resort. 3 pools of which one is adult only, and lots of dining options in the resort and nearby. Nice trails to walk on nearby and even an arcade inside. Service was really good. The only thing was I thought the room was on the smallish size for the price, and the outdoor pool chairs are super close to each other. "

We had a full kitchen a beautiful view of the ocean and we were just steps from the beach. We rented a cabana for the whole week and enjoyed the beach immensely. If you are looking for corporate owned resorts don’t stay here. If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful home away from home, this is the place!"

For the price compared to all the other resorts you get the most bang for your buck: location, FULL KITCHEN, laundry, guest services, beach access, shopping, and the most beautiful ocean with snorkeling magic galore. We saw sharks turtles and fish by Black Rock. It was amazing. Our daughter loved her first trip to Hawaii. We will definitely be back to west Maui and highly recommend the Whaler. "
