"A hidden gem, the place is very clean Lesley and John are really nice people to deal with and couldn’t do enough for you. We struggled to get a taxi and they offered a lift going over and above for their guests seems to come naturally to them. Would recommend anyone to stay."

"Excellent, pristine accommodation with all the extra added touches and more. Located next to the owners own home whom were not intrusive. The garden is welcoming with the added benefits of seeing the two resident horses in the adjacent field. You may be welcomed by two wee black cats whom can curl up on the porch, an animal lovers dream. Cathy is an excellent host whom responds quickly to any queries. I would highly recommend this property for anyone whom wants a rest from everyday life and more. Thank you for having us."

The cabin is beautifully designed, cozy, and surrounded by peaceful nature—ideal for unwinding after a busy day. Joanne, the hostess, was phenomenal: warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience feel effortless and relaxing. Each evening, I took walks through the surrounding area, which was tranquil and scenic—a perfect way to disconnect and recharge. The neighbours, Mr. Darcy and Jimmy, were an unexpected delight and added so much charm to the stay. Their friendly presence made the experience feel even more special. This place is a true gem, whether you’re visiting for work, rest, or a bit of both. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat and will definitely be returning. "Warm and cozy sleeping with the shutters and curtains drawn. Respect the house, switch on the pump if you light the fire, and yes I loved the wood smoke smells, it is mostly round the fire, if the fire is only embers you can switch off the pump, it's circulating the hot water from the fire, I was able to see local interests and the wonderful fresh air, excellent countryside. The ruin of Carmicheal House makes me wonder at its one time beauty, and it's just a short walk to from the cottage, highly recommend the farm shop, truly lovely experience. "
