The Hocking Hills region boasts some of the most unique and beautiful landscape in the Northeast. This stunning private property features walking trails, treetop views, cliffs and caves. The surrounding area includes state parks, national forests, hiking trails, caves, canoeing, adventure parks, zip-lining, rock climbing, horse trails, as well as year-round festivals, winery and brewery events. Idyll Reserve is minutes away from the area's main attractions.

The North cabin has about 10 steps from parking to front door (The South Studio and The Main House (Idyll Reserve | 1 & 2) were built with guests with limited mobility in mind).

The North Studio, closest to the private trail is the perfect place to connect with nature. This cabin sleeps up to 4, featuring a large great room with fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living and dining area and a gas fireplace.
We have just added a beautiful new outdoor oasis to The North, featuring a private sauna, hot tub, fire pit and lounge.

We recommend driving your own vehicle as ride-sharing and public transit are limited in our area. The driveway is gravel and offers parking space for 2 to 3 cars at each cabin. 2 EV chargers are located on the property and available for your use.

In winter, a 4x4 car is recommended for the Hillside Cabin & the North Cabin (Idyll Reserve | 4 and 5) as they are at the end of a long steep drive which may be slippery in icy conditions. If needed, 2-wheel drive cars can be parked near the upper cabins and the drive walked.

We have great cell coverage at Idyll (top of a big hill), but coverage in the Hocking Hills region can be spotty. We recommend downloading the directions before heading out.

Propane for gas grill and firewood for fire pit provided. There is a pack-n-play with bedding, a high chair, and children's dishes and utensils stored in each cabin. Extraordinarily well-behaved dogs are welcome at this cabin (The North), The Cabin and The Hillside (Idyll Reserve | 3, 4 & 5).

Great weekend away!

We had a wonderful time staying at Idyll Reserve! Very modern, clean yet cozy! The sauna and hot tub were amazing and we had fun cooking in the kitchen. The nearby trails were great for hiking. I’d definitely recommend booking your stay at Idyll Reserve!

A luxurious cabin smack in the middle of everything!!!

Beautiful, clean, great amenities, and so close to all the main attractions at Hocking Hills, it’s right in the middle of it! We loved our stay! It was a surprise to find such a luxurious place in such a great location! We’ll be back for sure!!!

Beautiful location and incredibly restful

The place is so gorgeous and relaxing- they have thought of everything! From the delicious wine and coffee provided and the amazing scented custom soaps, cozy blankets, and incredible bedding. You don't even have to worry about firewood. We also loved bouncing between the sauna and hot tub. We will definitely be back!

A phenomenal retreat!

What an amazing retreat Idyll Reserve is! We booked our stay a year in advance and looked forward to our visit in The North for a very long time. We were not disappointed! It is a gorgeous location, a beautifully designed space, and it had every amenity we could ask for. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

We had an AMAZING experience at The North with Idyll Reserve!!! It was a perfect cozy getaway for us and our pup. The details of the house were stunning and had such a cozy feel! We loved all the little details such as a bottle of wine upon arrival and pantry staples stocked. Best stay ever!

It was such a pleasure to stay here! The location is amazingly close to great hiking trailheads. The location of Idyll is private and peaceful. The home is high end and so luxurious feeling- from the bed linens and towels to the kitchen to the fireplace. Everything was well designed and comfortable. We LOVED the sauna and hot tub- we used it a few times each day. Thanks for such a great stay!

Absolutely stunning place!

If only I could live here 😊 … The North is such a beautiful place. The view of the woods from the coziest couch are to die for. We loved the hot tub and sauna. And the location is fabulous with short drives to so many hikes. Everything was thought of from linens to games to records to candles with matches that made the place smell amazing . Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Hope to come stay again!

Perfect weekend getaway with our dog

We loved everything about our stay at Idyll Reserve 5. The home has everything you need. We really enjoyed the fireplace, sauna, hot tub and sauna. My wife also loved the shower and bathtub combo. Communication with the host was simple and the digital guide helped answer a lot of questions. We will be back!

Perfect Escape

I went to Idyll to relax and enjoy the new sauna at the cabin. So amazing and every time I visit I find something new to love. The sauna is such a nice addition and so easy to use. Going to enjoy this new feature with friends/family next time.

Idyllic Getaway

So happy we found Idyll Reserve on Instagram. The North is an amazing spot and we are already dreaming of returning soon. Relaxing get-a-way

It was everything we needed in a few days away. Peaceful, relaxing and tranquil. Waking up to the snow quietly falling was the icing on the cake. Star gazing while sitting in the hot tub after enjoying the new sauna was just dreamy! Oh, and the Christmas tree was a really nice touch! We highly recommend ♥️

Peaceful retreat

Beautiful location near old Man’s Cave. Beautifully designed, quiet, modern, clean. I appreciate the stocked kitchen utensils, cookware. Beautiful. And DOG FRIENDLY!!!!!! One tiny note- a hand rail at the beginning of the front stairs would be appreciated.

Perfect Spot for Anniversary Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Idyll Reserve. The North cabin was so beautiful and perfect for a trip to celebrate our anniversary. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the dinner we brought for our first night and to enjoy coffee each morning. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower and natural bath products were excellent. The location is perfect to enjoy the Hocking Hills area. We hiked each day (thank you for recommending the Old Growth Forest trail!) and then relaxed in the sauna and on the cozy couch with a blanket in the evenings. The natural light and views of the surrounding forest from the windows were stunning. Our hosts were great communicators and definitely have spared no detail in creating this amazing getaway in the woods. We are already talking about when we can return!

Idyll Reserve 5

I recently visited this beautiful getaway this prior weekend, June 21 through June 23 and as you may know, it was extremely hot this weekend, but that did not stop us from having a good time enjoy enjoying everything that we were offered, including the hot tub in the sauna and even the grill ! Oh yes we also were able to utilize the fire pit ! In the 95 degree weather nothing stop us from enjoying and having a great time. When you actually see for yourself you will risk it as well! The views all the privacy it just was so peaceful to be out very beautiful. You were able to see the caves at least two they have so many things you can do down here and Hocking HillsI wouldn’t choose and other place to stay than Idyll 5 also may I add this is my second stay here in Idyll 5 I stay last November and it was absolutely beautiful the snow the change of leaves so the view was so incredible! I can go on forever! -The interior design is truly jaw dropping you have to see in person if you haven’t seen the pictures! This place is the stay I will be booking really soon thanks Lura for being so kind and very professional as an host very on time with any questions or problems! -Kajuanah

A Little Slice of Paradise

I stumbled upon Hygge Supply and Idyll Reserve by accident. I had recently learned the term (and the idea behind) hygge....a Norwegian/Danish word meaning "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being". And there is no better word to describe our stay at Idyll Reserve. From the moment you enter the driveway, you're in for an experience. The unassuming modern exterior of the cabin, nestled amongst the golds and oranges of the leaves, belies the perfect blend of luxury and coziness that awaits inside. Every window frames a scene of autumn bliss. The cabin is situated such that the morning and evening light spills across the entire floorplan, enveloping you in a warm glow. The floorplan of The North, a 1 bedroom, is relatively small...but never feels cramped, thanks to the thoughtful layout. We visited with our two young daughters, and they were perfectly comfortable on the fold out sofa. They absolutely LOVED the trails down to the caves and were eager to explore. As much as we loved the house, I think we got the most use out of the back deck....enjoying sunrise from the hot tub and just watching the leaves fall. We came here with the mission of getting an idea of the fit, finish, and layout of a Hygge Supply house would fit the needs of our family for a future build in Michigan. And it was a resounding YES from all of us. I think the one and only thing I would add is some smart film on the windows that can turn from clear to translucent at the flip of a switch. No matter how remote I am, I still can't shake the feeling of being watched when it's dark outside. All in all a 5 out of 5 experience.
