"I’d like to separate my reviews of the property vs. the specific room I booked. The property was outstanding. The staff make you feel like you are staying at a luxury resort, they are all fantastic. Housekeeping was excellent and the grounds and views are beautiful, plus free coffee throughout the day. However, I really regretted booking my specific room- as a solo traveler I thought I could handle the single bed room, but it was the size of a walk-in closet. I paid $1000 for four nights of being very claustrophobic and uncomfortable. That being said, the larger rooms with balconies are stunning and I would rate the actual property 10/10. Just be cautious as a solo traveler, I don’t think anyone over age 30 would be comfortable in the single bed room- I thought I could handle it but really regretted it."

"The location of the hotel is excellent right down in the center of town close to shops restaurants and all amenities. Very picturesque of the area from this location. The hotel staff we’re all very nice and kind very friendly. My main criticism is that the room was very very small and there was no air-conditioning. I know that this area tends to be colder when they were experiencing much higher temperatures than normal, but I would think that at least maybe portable fans could be offered if need be. That made it pretty uncomfortable. But other than that, we were happy with our room."

"Stayed 5 nights at this hotel. Very nice room, we somehow snagged an upgrade and the room was quite spacious. Also best bed and bedding we slept in during our three weeks in Switzerland. Hotel is clean and quiet. Breakfast was very nice, and the other meals we took at the hotel were good as well. View from our room was breathtaking, looking down the Lauterbrunnen valley. Location is a 7 minute walk to the train station, and the hotel offers pick up and drop off on arrival and departure. Cable car is about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay again."

"Stayed three nights on vacation with the wife. Overall nice hotel, very opulent, nice buffet breakfast. Area was safe and close to the train station, but about a 12 minute walk across town from the lift station, so bear that in mind if using the lift and not the train. One not so good thing was the room, it had a weird configuration. There was a support beam running diagonally across the room, and the bed was mainly in the middle of the room, not against a wall. This made the room 'choppy' with no good paths to move around, and increased the risk of running into something accidently. If considering to stay here, ask to be sure not to get a room like ours. Wish I had taken a pic so readers could understand how problematic this layout really was."
