    "Room was nicely decorated and attractive, but it was small. Had a hanging rod for clothes, but no drawers nor many surfaces to put things. Shower stall was very small, but the showerhead was very good so showering was not a problem and I am over 6 feet. Lighting in the bathroom was dim. Staff was nice but they were never present at night so if you didn’t get back from touring around town in the early evening, you couldn’t get any help with anything.     "We have stayed here 2 years in a row. We love this location and we get a room with canal views, so for the price it's good. The front desk was less than helpful, especially on our arrival as our flight was delayed. Absolutely no help with transportation or trying to get something to eat. After long delays and late arrival, we just wanted a drink and maybe something to nibble on....as we looked on to the full bar 5' from the front desk. He said sorry no can do!!!!     "This hotel was in a convenient location, only a short walk to Piazza San Marco! However, when we checked in at the sister hotel, Hotel Ala, staff were not very friendly. You may also be given a room key for the top floor of the hotel, which is something to be mindful of if you are travelling with lots of luggage as there is no elevator. We experienced this. Once we got into the room, the room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. Most notably, there was dirt and hair on the mattress..."

"The location is great, with electric train into Venice on the same block. And Very helpful staff. Our room had some badly damaged bathroom tiles and the tub had some damage so we asked for a new room and they had no problem upgrading us. The gym is small but serviceable. The portions in the dining room were small foe the price (even for Venice) but the breakfast buffet was well worth the 10 Euro advance price. Cool neoghbourhood and 15 mins from Marco Polo airport by taxi."
