Hotel La Lucertola
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is on the coast line and is lovely, rooms could do with a bit of updating. Staff friendly and can speak English. It’s a 15 minute walk up a hill to the town for restaurants and shops - buses don’t seem to run in the evenings. So maybe not a good choice if you have travellers with mobility concerns. Old town centre is very pretty. There is not much for kids to do though. Also, I didn’t take into account that the hotel charge for the ‘private beach’. It’s not actually a beach, but a decking into the water. This is 15 euros per day, per person. 20 euros at weekend. Apparently this is cheap …. There is a free public beach which is 15 mins walk down the hill. It’s a bit of a squeeze but ok for kids. This is probably more of a hotel for couples than families."

"The location was excellent for us as we were so close to the ferrys and the location is in the middle of train station, old town, waterfront. The staff was also very helpful with all of our questions."

"Nous sommes restés trois nuits à l’hôtel plaza de Salerne. Le personnel était très accueillant et sympathique. Ils répondaient à nos questions et étaient très heureux de pouvoir nous aider. L’emplacement est de loin un élément clé. À pieds, il est à 1 min de la gare et à 5-6 minutes de la Piazza concordia où vous trouverez les traversiers pour les différentes villes de la côte. C’était vraiment apprécié!"

"Beautiful old hotel full of charm and style and comfort. The views are amazing and the pool is lovely. We had a suite with a hot tub on a beautiful balcony. Wish we'd had longer here."

The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the area, and the accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff was truly amazing—kind, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Their hospitality really made our stay special. This was such a lovely experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We highly, highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our trip so memorable! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"Not the most modern place but it was great. I’d stay there again. Directly above Salerno Manfreddi port. Staff was great with questions about the area and the ferry schedule. Giovanni was especially helpful as his English was excellent. Walking distance to old town etc.. Good home base.."
