Tucked away perfection
I loved the location and the peaceful vibe of Mile High. Driving up to the house the cabin gives a quaint and rustic impression but the inside reveals an expansive layout and generous accommodations. The attention to detail and design added to the comfortable and warm atmosphere. We will absolutely be checking availability of Mile High for our next visit.

Great Stay
Really enjoyed our stay with family. Great location. Very spacious and well equiped cabin. Snow and winter weather makes exiting a little tricky on the steep hill. No major complaints and would certainly stay again. The only complaint is cabin lighting is pretty dark. Especially in the main living room where many lights were out. Even with replacements it will probably be a little dark. Lots of ceiling lights were out. Untl replacements can be made, a couple of lamps would help. While a little pricey, its a great place for a large groupl. Considering going back in the summer to ride the bike trails. You won't be dissapointed with this place.

This cabin was perfect for our Christmas 2023 family gathering. Loved the cabin and all it's amenities. Nicely stocked kitchen and it was decorated nicely for the holiday. Pool table, ping pong table, and hot tub are great features. If you're staying in the winter you'd better have a 4 wheel drive! We got about 10" of snow while we were there, but it was beautiful. Highly recommend this for your next large gathering!

Beautiful property secluded in the black hills yet close to many attractions with a short drive. Would recommend 4WD vehicles in the winter due to slope to access and icy roads. Excellent check in process and easy to communicate with owners! Loved it was pet friendly.

This property is amazing! Plenty of options for sleeping arrangements, cabin is open concept and has lots of natural light from all the windows. Outdoor space in the back is large and inviting, perfect for sitting around the fire pit or eating dinner on the deck. Hosts even provided things for the dogs!

Excellent location! Cabin in the hills but a few minutes drive away to grocery, restaurants or entertainment. Super clean and comfortable. We especially enjoy you can bring your own groceries and find plenty to do on property to keep you entertained your whole stay.

Great place to stay!
Great place for couples that want their own bathroom. Clean and well equipped. Manager very accommodating and easy to get ahold of. Quick responses for our questions. Could use some light bulbs replaced. Only complaint and it’s with Vrbo not owners, lots of add on fees and such that really add up the nightly cost so don’t get hung up on their advertised nightly stay. Very misleading, just be up front with price. Great place though and would definitely stay here again.

Cabin located in great location close to Spearfish and Deadwood. Serene and quiet surroundings. Plenty of space for family and pets. Enjoyed the rec room downstairs with all the amenities. Hot tub was a nice way to start or end the day. Nice retreat for our annual trip to the Hills.

Black Hills Beauty!
Had the pleasure of staying in the beautiful Mile High Cabin. It was a perfect location and we really appreciated that it was so dog friendly! Tara was very helpful with restaurant and hiking recommendations. I felt like we were staying in a 5-star resort. Rustic outside but perfect for what we wanted. Secluded but close to town. The only thing I would change is check in at 4 is a little late and 10 am check out is a little early;) This would be a great place to stay with our kids and grandkids as there was a lot of room and a really cool game room downstairs. It was just my husband and I, so the cleaning fee seemed a bit high for just the two of us, but definitely appropriate for a big group! Would stay again!

Successful Bachelorette Bash
We got this place for a bachelorette party in Deadwood. It was perfect for our group. The yard is beautiful and the master bedroom is a dream. We had so much fun! Tara was right available when we had question and so nice. Definitely need 4 wheel drive for some of the roads but we found ways around them. We hope to visit again soon!

We were all very impressed at how clean the cabin was. We were also impressed at how many amenities this property provided. (Hot tub, pool and ping pong table, grill and black stone, to name a few. The cabin setup was great for a larger gathering and everything was great from the abundance of towels to the floor plan itself. I would highly recommend this property to others and will look to use it again myself. Thank you

The house is beautiful. Plenty of room for our group of 7 and furbaby. Very comfortable. The kitchen is great, the only issue was the coffee pot, didn’t realize it was a Bunn until our last day when my wife noticed what type it was, instructions for this would be great, especially for those who have never used this type before. Other than that, beds were comfortable, never had issues with hot water, game room in the basement was fun, and the living spaces were comfortable. Love the rustic vibe! Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful cabin. Fit our needs well. Enjoyed hot tub, TVs, large great room and kitchen for 6 guys snowmobiling black hills for a week..good location..easy in/out on sleds. Although snow was plowed for driveway upon arrival we had to do singnificant shoveling to make our way in to doors through drifted snow. Heating system could not keep up...we used fireplace lots. Owner did offer to send Heating tech but we really didn't want to deal with inconvenience/our time. Freezer ice maker did not work. Place needed several other minor repairs. We sent a final list at checkout. Note the driveway is steep and although ad says 4wd needed in winter, the single lane road is a 12 degree incline about 20 yards out of the driveway after 90 degree right turn. It was plowed by owners private service but not salted/sanded. With snowmobile trailers, we needed tire chains to get out. 4wd, good tires and when hardback snow, maybe a bag of salt or chains.

Perfect!
The space was ideal for our family with adult children and their significant others. The layout of the cabin is perfect to have both a large gathering space and space to spread out for privacy. My daughter's dogs were happy to be with the family and easy to manage. We loved the hottub, gameroom and beautiful landscape. The location made it easy to ski in the day and play in Deadwood in the evenings. We were super glad we had four-wheel drive vehicles because there was a lot of snow and the last couple hundred yards to the cabin would have been a challenge without them . We didn't mind the road because it made it feel extra secluded. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

Beautiful location, roadway before driveway a little sketchy during winter. Walkways we’re not shoveled along with the garage entry being blocked by snow and garage door being damaged before our arrival, so we we unable to use garage as informed by owner. The stay at this location was perfect for our situation and loved the quietness.

We had such an awesome time at the Mile High Cabin! It was absolutely perfect for our entire family! The kitchen and living room was great for everyone to hangout together while cooking! Such a great place for all ages! The basement with a definite hangout for all also! Things good pretty competitive! :) The hot tub was also amazing and we spent a lot of time in there also! The west side hill coming into the property was an awesome spot for sledding for the kids! We will definitely been coming back to this cabin! Thank you for all the amazing amenities you guys had! A serious slice of heaven in The Black Hills
The cabin itself is incredibly beautiful, nestled in the middle of the trees. It felt very private and cozy and wonderful. The kitchen and bathrooms were all fully stocked with everything needed and with every amenity you could possibly think of! The whole house was very clean, organized; and felt very homey. It seriously felt like we could spend so much longer tucked away in this cabin with our family! The drive into Lead was super quick for groceries as well! The basement was such a fun hang-out space for the whole family with ping pong, pool, and basketball for the kids as well as comfortable TV-watching space where we could all feel connected. We seriously loved our stay here and I would recommend Mile High Cabins to literally anyone looking for a very comfortable and fun stay out in the hills with their family!

Amazing, secluded, and relaxing.
We absolutely loved this property! It is situated in such a beautiful area that is just secluded enough to make you appreciate the silence and the amazing views. The house had so many areas to hang out and be together, but plenty of space to relax and nap if someone wanted to. The game room was enjoyed by everyone in our party and we spent a lot of time between the living room in front of the fireplace upstairs and around the kitchen island. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas and was the perfect cozy getaway. The hot tub has such a serene, peaceful view and was well maintained. The kitchen was stocked perfectly with certain essentials and plenty of baking/cooking needs. We will absolutely be booking this property again for our travel to the Hills. We had 6 people and 1 dog in our party and could have easily had at least 10 more people with us and not felt squished! VERY HAPPY with our experience!

My favorite cabin stay
We stayed at the Mile High cabin for a week and it was the perfect place to call home for a week! We have stayed at several Black Hills cabins and this one was by far my favorite! The cabin is beautiful and very clean. It was well stocked with the things we needed. The game room kept us entertained and we really enjoyed the starry views from the hot tub at nights. The location was great for exploring the sights in the northern and southern hills as well as the days we spent riding ATVs. It is a quiet and private spot, but still a quick drive to the nearest town/restaurants. The only complaint I had was that I had to leave to come home!

No propane in 4 tanks. Needed more towels in bath, hot tub and kitchen. Ice maker was froze up.and some mold was found inside refrigerator.Some Pool sticks had no tips. Carpet was wet in bunk bed room from possible leak above in king size rooms bathroom. Floors were dirty. Pots and pans should be replaced as well as toaster. Pantry was not stocked as described. Not enough garbage bags for size of house. Outside should have been mowed and trimmed. Fire pit cover needs to be replaced. Central air should be installed instead of portable units in each room that took up space and was poorly sealed.

Amazing, BEST CABIN EVER!!
This cabin was perfect for our 16 person get away! There is no shortage of space, we all fit perfectly with room to spare. The beds are extremely comfortable, there is charming modern decor, and the location of the cabin is absolutely spectacular. The property owner is very kind and so easy to work with. I cannot say enough good things about this property!! I highly recommend this beautiful cabin - it is one of a kind and we will definitely be back!! Thank you so much!

Very beautiful area for family vacation
We really enjoyed the area! We wished we would have used the amenities downstairs more. The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive to messages which was great. She also gave some great recommendations which we appreciated. The house is beautiful but the AC units do not work well- they are duct taped into the window poorly and actually blow more hot air inside the house. We found opening the windows at night kept the cabin plenty cool. I would remove the units or having them installed correctly because it makes it worse how they currently are and not something we thought worth messaging about since opening windows sufficed. There was a black dog that came around that was pooping in the backyard but when we notified the owner so we wouldn’t be charged she was very responsive, apologetic and wanted to rectify it immediately which was appreciated. We brought a pet so picking up a few extra piles wasn’t an issue we just didn’t want to be charged once we left if some was found and we were assured we wouldn’t be which was great. The rules clearly state to clean the grill before leaving or you will be charged $100. Well we did grill one night and had to clean the grill prior to use as it wasn’t well cleaned, ofcourse in the hustle of leaving we didn’t clean the grill so we’re charged the $100 as stated in guidelines- which I can not argue for that reason alone but I would encourage the owners to follow up with the cleaners because if you have to clean it even before using it then what’s the point… also $100 seems quite steep for scraping a grill.

Four wheeling adventure
We loved our stay at Mile High Cabin! We four wheeled to Custer Peak, Terry Peak, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood- right from the cabin. We rented ebikes and biked part of the Mickelson Trail in Deadwood. It was wonderful to return to the cabin each evening to cook and relax in the hot tub or on the spacious patio or fire ring area. There was one small issue with the garbage disposal sounding funny, so we contacted the owner, who had it fixed immediately. We couldn't be happier with our stay at the fun Mile High Cabin. We wish we would have had more time to utilize the downstairs amenties- the air hockey, pool table, movies and ping pong. Thanks for letting us stay!!
