  • Tucked behind a traditional manor house just off the lane, Flat 1 offers bright, comfortable coastal living in one of Elie’s most enviable spots. It’s the closest apartment to the long sandy beach with no roads to cross – simply step out, follow the lane and you’re on the sand in moments. From here it’s also an easy stroll up to the Pavilion, golf course, sports club and village centre, making it a great choice for small families, couples and guests looking for mostly all-on-the-level accommodation (please note there are four steps up to the main door). Wi-Fi is included and the property is pet friendly, so four-legged beach lovers are welcome too.

    Inside, the main open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area feels light and spacious, with large windows on both sides bringing in plenty of natural light. Two comfy two-seater sofas, occasional tables, lamps, a TV with Freeview and DVD player create a relaxed space to unwind after a day on the beach or exploring the East Neuk. The dining table seats four, while the fitted kitchen keeps self-catering simple, with hob, oven, extractor, fridge-freezer, washing machine, microwave and cafetière on hand for easy breakfasts and casual suppers.

    The sleeping layout works well for couples and young families. The spacious master bedroom has a double bed, fitted wardrobes and drawer storage, while the second bedroom offers standard-size bunk beds and a chair – a fun, practical space for children or flexible sleeping for friends. A compact shower room with corner enclosure, wash hand basin and WC completes the indoor layout.

    Outside, the communal garden is a real sun trap, with a central lawn and rotary clothes dryer that tend mainly to be used by Flats 1 and 2. A gate from the garden leads straight to the lane, and from there a further gate in the sea wall takes you directly onto the beach. From this peaceful corner of Elie you’re well placed for coastal walks, sea swims, local cafés and days out to nearby St Andrews and the wider East Neuk, with our local team on hand for support during your stay.
