Welcome to “Valor Circle Cottage!” Our modern 2BD cottage (sleeps 4) is ideally located in the Capitol City of Frankfort, this charming cottage offers an old charm with modern update. Start your Bourbon Trail adventure at Buffalo Trace(2 miles), then head 10 miles to Woodford Reserver or Castle & Key. The capital is a 4 minute walk. We think our place will help you experience everything Frankfort has to offer.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with tasteful decor and ample natural light streaming through the windows. The living room provides a comfortable space to unwind after a day of exploration, complete with plush seating and a flat-screen TV for your entertainment needs. The fully equipped kitchen boasts modern appliances

  • Kentucky State University was chartered in May 1886 as the State Normal School for Colored Persons, only the second state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky.[1] During the euphoria of Frankfort's 1886 centennial celebration, the city donated $1,500 towards the purchase of land for a new college on a bluff overlooking Frankfort. The new school formally opened on October 11, 1887, with three teachers, 55 students, and John H. Jackson as president.[1] Recitation Hall (now Jackson Hall), the college's first permanent building, was erected in that year. KSU became a land-grant college in 1890, and the departments of home economics, agriculture and mechanics were added to the school's curriculum.[1] The school produced its first graduating class of five students in the spring of that year. A high school was organized in 1893. This expansion continued into the 20th century in both name and program. In 1902, the name was changed to Kentucky Normal and Industrial Institute for Colored Persons. The name was changed again in 1926 to Kentucky State Industrial College for Colored Persons.

This house is nice, very clean and comfortable. The host communicated extremely well. It is in a great location and worked awesome for our two couples spending the weekend enjoying some of the Bourbon trail. We would definitely stay here again.

Stop on the Bourbon Trail

The place is small and older, but the hosts did a great job of making it comfortable for 2 couples. Location is perfect for a trip to Buffalo Trace and nearby restaurants and distilleries.

Perfectly located

This adorable house is located just a few blocks from the capital building. My husband and I enjoyed walking there area. Just a short drive to a lot of distilleries and wineries. There house was clean and decorated wonderfully.

Midweek visit to the Bourbon Trail and Historic Frankfort

The house is quaint and a bit "old fashioned" (in a good way, evoking warm memories from our childhood--we are in our 70s). It has been very nicely updated, is very clean, and in a quiet neighborhood. We walked several times to downtown, and to the new capital building. Very conveniently located to downtown shopping and museums, plus to the northeast part of the Bourbon Trail, which was the focus of our visit. Plenty of parking at the house location. We very much enjoyed the visit!

Perfect stay

Pit stop on our way south to Florida with our 2 pups. Clean, convenient, spacious, and cozy. We toured Buffelo Trace and came back for a bonfire and then walked downtown for dinner. Perfect! Pups loved the fenced yard.

Great spot to enjoy Frankfort area

Took a little to get used to having the kitchen downstairs and the living area upstairs but overall the home provided everything we needed for our stay in Frankfort. The king bed was MOST comfortable!! Didn’t try the other. Was the perfect home base for distillery visits during the day.

Just like home

The locations is great! Truly walking distance to the charming main street, with great bars and restaurants. The house is beautiful! Not only the decor but also comfortable. I mostly use VRBO for my vacations, locally and internationally, and this house is by far the best! They provide with everything you need and more! I've been using VRBO since 2015 and this house is a winner for me.

Bourbon Trail vacation

This house was extremely clean and had so much space!! The rooms were large, extremely comfortable beds, and very quiet. The location to downtown was perfect. You could get to restaurants, coffee shops, and any bars within minutes. It is a quick easy walk to take in the beautiful town of Frankfort!! We were 15 min away from our favorite distilleries, and only 25 min from some others. So it’s a great location to visit multiple distilleries if that is what you’re going for. We have visited Frankfort for the last 4 years and this house was one of our favorites. In the evening we had a bonfire in the back yard, and relaxed by fire. The host was extremely quick to respond making the stay that much better, and provided extra toiletry items in case you forget anything. For 4 people it was the perfect home, with sooo much space, and privacy for each couple as the bedrooms and baths were on two different floors. We loved it and will return next year!!
