Lovely place in a great location on a quiet canal. Staff really nice and helpful ( umbrella loan, booking taxi to airport). Rooms clean and very quiet- with almost too cold ac, which was great because it was so hot that week. Bar a great bonus, excellent drinks and service, really relaxing to sit outside by the canal after a long day.

This hotel was in a convenient location, only a short walk to Piazza San Marco! However, when we checked in at the sister hotel, Hotel Ala, staff were not very friendly. You may also be given a room key for the top floor of the hotel, which is something to be mindful of if you are travelling with lots of luggage as there is no elevator. We experienced this. Once we got into the room, the room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. Most notably, there was dirt and hair on the mattress cover, and the garbage was only dumped out instead of having had the entire bag changed. The room on the other hand was nice with lots of lighting and newer looking fixtures. The safe situation was disappointing, the room had a safe, but it wasn’t bolted down so it did not give us a good sense of security (you can pick it up super easily if you wanted to). Overall, the stay was okay but all things considered, the room was overpriced for what you get.
