Located in the historic centre of the village of Colares, Casa de Collares—whose structure is believed to date back to the 16th century—once served as a century-old bread factory and bakery. Restored with care to preserve many of its historical and architectural features, and renovated to provide the utmost comfort for its guests, Casa de Collares is the ideal place to experience the spirit of the area and let yourself be swept away by the same fascination with these lands that inspired the literary descriptions of writers and poets such as Camilo Castelo Branco, Alexandre Herculano, Eça de Queirós, and William Beckford.

Casa de Collares features one bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with two single beds, a living area with a double sofa bed, two bathrooms, a living room, an interior balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, and an outdoor patio with a barbecue. It can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people.

The village of Colares offers everything you need for a pleasant and peaceful stay. It features various amenities, including a supermarket, supermarket, bakery, cafés, bars, restaurants, petrol stations, a laundromat, a pharmacy, a regional wine shop, and a newsstand.
Casa de Collares is the ideal starting point for a tour to discover the village’s historic centre, its rich history and heritage, its churches, pillory, rustic houses, mansions, estates, and late 19th-century “chalets.”

Casa de Collares, nestled against the lush landscape of the Serra de Sintra and offering a spectacular view of both the mountains and the Pena Palace, invites you to visit many of the surrounding attractions: the town of Sintra itself, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, is 7 kilometres away; it is also close to some of Portugal’s most beautiful beaches, such as Adraga, Maçãs, Ursa, and Aguda. And to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe and “where the land ends and the sea begins”; to the picturesque village of Azenhas do Mar, which winds down the cliffs to the sea and offers a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.
