Great stay!
this place was a highlight of our stay! We loved our balcony, walking in the gardens, the wine made on property, and the delicious breakfast. The hospitality was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. We highly recommend it!

This property is lovely and located in a quiet part and hilly terrain of Colares. Please be aware that Expedia will charge you an extra fee for a child despite of the business does not charge a fee for a child. In our stay we were charged 70 Euros extra. You must have a car to star stay here because the nearest shopping and restaurants are about 5 to 10 minutes away by car. Not good for walking around the property because of a busy and up Hill road. Staff are very nice and professional. The self service buffet is very good. They also served soya milk on request for free. There was a very nice small bottle of Portuguese wine and free bottle of water in our room. Thank you!

Ideal for visiting the area.
A good hotel for visiting the surrounding area. The rooms/bathrooms are a little tired but everything was clean, everything you needed was in the rooms and fab air conditioning. Breakfast was a good buffet and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Evening meal on one night was also very good and excellent value. I would be happy to stay here again.

Great hotel! Buffet breakfast was average. Rooms were nice. Great backyard to take lovely photos. Didn’t give us new toilet paper- had to ask, but that was the only thing! I would stay again. It was lovely

Nice countryside location, hotel very dated
Staff were nice. Hotel very dated. Could feel the springs in the bed! Room felt stuffy/damp. Walls were thin so could hear people in the stairwell and other rooms. Lovely area - we enjoyed exploring the countryside via the windy roads.

It is a quiet hotel but you need a car to stay here. It is far from Sintra.

One night stay outside of Sintra
We booked the hotel for one night to allow us an early start visiting the touristic sites in Sintra. Getting there absolutely requires a car, and even with a GPS it was not easy to find (winding roads which confused the system). The hotel needs a much more prominent sign which can easily be seen from the road. The woman at reception was very friendly and helpful, and the room was fine. Their restaurant was closed (Sunday night & chef's night off) so families arriving had to drive back to a nearby village or to the beach to get something to eat. The area around the hotel is lovely, However, the location is not practical if your main objective is Sintra.

Overall a good value
Traveling with my adult daughter and we stayed one night here while exploring Sintra. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful - and if you have a car it’s a nice somewhat rural location. The property itself is a strange mix however of feeling somewhat institutional and the furnishings in our junior suite were definitely tired. Other rooms might have been more pleasant. The breakfast was really nice. We also drove less than ten minutes and had a great seafood meal at a nearby beach. Overall the hotel is a good value.

A charming find in the countryside near Sintra
Everything about Sarrazola House was lovely and charming. The young woman at reception provided tons of useful information about what to do in Sintra, the room was perfect and opened onto a beautiful garden, wine upon arrival was a nice touch, and breakfast was good. While it's a little past Sintra (from Lisbon) we really liked driving through the hilly area and seeing the small villages and the old-fashioned tram that serves the area. The price was very reasonable, too. I highly recommend staying here.

We love it
At the price we got, it was wonderful! A big king-sized bed for two of us to spread out, all wonderful and in working condition facilities. Truly did not expect such a nice stay at this price point. Although it is quite further away from the city centre and all the tourist attractions. The view from the hotel is amazing too :)

Sintra visit
It is located in high elevation and relatively quiet. The room was clean and breakfast was great. The only issue was there is no furniture in bathroom to keep toothbrush and tooth paste. Shower was too small.

It's a 15 minute drive away from Sintra and there is nothing around the hotel to do. They run out of extra pillows and we had to borrow some from the couch in the common area...

Very nice hotel if you have a car
I had a beautiful room with balcony (a free upgrade) where I stayed 2 nights. It is within 10 km of Sintra and closer to 2 nice beaches. It is not recommended to drive to Sintra because it is very crowded and parking is difficult. On each of two days I drove to one of the beaches (Praia das Maças), parked for free and either took a bus to Sintra for 3,3 euros or the spectacular ride on a 1904 tram that travels at a very low speed, it takes 40 minutes to get there, but it is quite an experience for 2 euros. The hotel serves an excellent continental buffet breakfast with lots of choices, on one day they even had bacon and eggs. The hotel is very modern with all the room amenities one can wish for. It is perfectly clean, the staff is pleasant and quite helpful. I rated it a 5 on all points.

Lovely Gardens in a Peaceful Setting
My friends and I met up at this charming little hotel for a week of castle hikes and garden walks. Andrea and Lioda were both helpful and kind. It is out of the way which we preferred, but the 403 is an inconsistent bus. Uber worked well and cabs. You can't count on the hotel shuttles. The hot water was a small problem 2 days, but fine otherwise. Breakfast was just perfect especially on the terrace. It was a great deal when combined with my air ticket.

Cozy, small hotel not far away from Sintra
Nice place, beautiful view, close to sea; but not walking distance. You'd better have a car if you want to enjoy Sintra late evening, because the last bus from train Station departs at 19:10, after this you can use only taxi; same if you'd like to go to sea view point. Bus stop is in front of hotel. Actually there is car rent at Sintra Train Station. Staff is very friendly; breakfast was included and was good; wine (probably instead of chocolate) in the evening was great. if you miss/want to enjoy quiet evenings in rural area, this hotel is for you

Don't stay here if you want to visit Sintra
This hotel lists itself as Sintra but it isn't-it is in Colares-the neiboring town. If you want to visit Sintra stay in Sintra for a few more dollars. This hotel cost an average amount-I paid half because of an Expedia points discount but it is a 15-20 min drive from Sintra and there is nothing to do there in the evening-even the hotel restaurant is closed except for breakfast. The hotel staff are nice but it isn't worth the price I paid. The wifi was very weak in the room and didn't work well and the balcony was nice but smelled like cats. Not a pleasant smell. They did leave us a complimentary water and wine and there was free parking but I would recommend staying elsewhere.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights recently. Firstly I arrived to be told they overbooked and the garden views suite I booked and paid for upfront over a month before was not available even though I paid 60£ per night which is quite a bit for a 3 star in the middle of nowhere. I was given a suite with car park views, ok fine they made an effort to sort me out so appreciate that. They have no iron so if you have any formal dinners you need to get the maid to iron for you in advance. The main amenities are great, tv, air con etc. I slept ok except one morning woke up with little bites on my arms and hand which are now little red welts and a blister. No idea what they are. The restaurant is good, decent continental breakfast.

We booked a balcony room via Hotels.com, however, on arrival we were put is standard room. The booking documentation given to the hotel showed a standard room (&a lower price) despite being fully booked, the hotel was able to give us what we wanted!

Nice friendly hotel easy drive to Sintra
Bit difficult to find in rain at night but staff made us very welcome and extended dining service to provide excellent meal when we arrived late. Stayed second night and found restaurant fully booked when we got back late afternoon. Again staff excelled in providing a full in room meal. Front desk extremely helpful with directions, etc.
