Altnaharra Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"A very quiet and private place to stay, especially as there aren’t many other options or facilities nearby. You’ll mainly need to rely on the hotel’s own restaurant, but luckily the dinner was very good and we really enjoyed it. The staff were also friendly and helpful. A great choice if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful and away from the crowds."
Links House at Royal Dornoch
10/10 Excellent
"The Links Hotel is beautiful, well decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the newer building and when we walked into our room my first response was how much I loved the colors. Our room had a view of Royal Dornoch Golf Course. The bed was comfortable, the sitting area very nice and situated to the view. The huge bathroom was spacious and luxurious. We arrived to two little glass bottles of an Auld Fashioned with shortbread—yummy! There is an espresso machine and tea service outside the rooms on the second floor for all to use, a mini fridge full of cold waters and chocolate bars on the shelf. Breakfast is included and was quite delicious. We highly recommend The Links!"
Cosy Shepherds Hut in the stunning Scottish Highlands & just off the NC500
8/10 Good
"Nice and quiet. Nice area for walking"
Evelix Pods
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful property in a beautiful place. Very clean and just as expected. There is a small shop across the road, and a larger one 5 min drive away. Easy check in."
In the heart of the Highlands located on a Private Sporting Estate
10/10 Excellent
"We LOVED our stay at this cottage! It was so beautiful and picturesque, exactly as shown. A great place to unwind and enjoy the quiet. We did a couple of short day trips so even though it was remote it was a good spot to spring off from. The kitchen had everything we need (although all we did was cook breakfast there) and the laundry machines were so appreciated. Our kids found tadpoles in the stream out back and we were visited by the many deer every evening. Fiona was very communicative. We would definitely love to stay again and recommend to anyone looking to get up to the highlands!"
Woodlands Bed & Breakfast
10/10 Excellent
"It was a delightful stay. Very clean and friendly hosts for our 4 nights there."
Golspie, Firthview, A cosy seafront escape
8/10 Good
"The property was nice and clean. Parking was easy, right on the property. Located right on the beach and footpath, so the ocean view was nice. The owner supplied all of the usual conveniences in the kitchen and bath. I was concerned about the Alexa device that seemed to be always listening, so we unplugged it. The radiator beside the tele was emitting an electronic signal, but I could not find the actual source. We were unable to operate the heating, so it was a little chillier than we expected. It was 16C when we arrived and gradually worked its way up to 18C without use of a heating system. The owner was responsive to our communications, but we didn't ask about the heating. Perhaps we should have.Golspie is a very nice little town and a nice stop over point from Thurso to Inverness."
The Eagle Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Room and bathroom small but comfortable. Dinner was very average. Breakfast was good."
5 bedroom accommodation in Lairg
10/10 Excellent
"The pictures do not do true justice to this outstanding property. It really is a rare find having rented many properties over the years. This is an exceptionally large open plan real log house, beautifully constructed with huge tree trunks. No effort has been spared in the attention to detail, it has an impressive lly immaculatel and well stocked kitchen, which includes spices, oils, teas and coffees, pans, gadgets etc.The seating area is inspired, with a well stocked fire place, made up ready to use, and plenty of logs to use.The Turkish steam room was wonderful to use and well constructed on the lower of 3 levels. There are multiple utility rooms, including washing machines (detergents in cupboards), cleaning areas. On arrival, we were also very thankful for the extra touches of bread, milk, a welcome gift pack. The communications from booking through to after we left made a real difference. Heather was so helpful, considerate and attentive. Thank you Heather!!I would challenge anyone to stay and not have their breath taken away.Lastly, not fair away is the village of Lairg where there are two convience stores, a petrol station, and The Pier: a local produce restaurant we loved. From the lodge you cqn quickly drive to amazing Highland mountian ranges, and the spectacular beach at Clachtol near Stoer. Lots of walks, wild deer and superb countryside. We can't recommend this place enough, we shall return!"
