Welcome to Ty Rhos Newydd (pronounced ‘Tea Ross Neh-wid’), a big family house with plenty of space inside and out and everything you need for a group stay of up to 10. Winner : VRBO's 2023 holiday home of the year!
Come in through the main entrance to a spacious hallway, with room for coats, shoes and muddy wellies. To the left is the dining room, with a double-height cathedral ceiling and a wall of bi-fold glass windows that open out to the patio, the lawned garden and the hot tub. The bespoke table seats 10, so everyone fits round it for family meals and celebrations. The dining room leads into the living room, which manages to be spacious and cosy at once, with stripped wood floors, a leather sofa and armchairs, a large smart TV and a wood burner in the feature fireplace for after a day out on Anglesey.
The kitchen is also to the left of the entrance, fully equipped, with plenty of granite worktop for preparing meals. Next to it is a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and a separate guest toilet. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor: a twin with zip-link beds (which can be made up as a king) and two double rooms, each with an en-suite shower room.
A bespoke oak staircase takes you up to a landing with a seating area and two comfortable sofas. The cinema room is up here too, with a projector, Bose sound system and reclining cinema seats. There are two more bedrooms on this floor: a king-size with an en-suite bathroom (large walk-in shower, freestanding bath, sink and toilet) and a twin with zip-link beds, which can be made up as a king when you book, with its own en-suite shower room. The upstairs rooms all have skylight windows.
Outside, the large patio has a seven-person hot tub (included in the price), a dining table and chairs and feature lighting. The enclosed games room has a pool table, a 300-litre drinks fridge, a dartboard, cycle racks and storage for muddy boots and shoes. The enclosed lawned garden leads out to a two-acre paddock with a wildflower meadow, a safe space for children and pets, and you may find it hard to tempt them back indoors.
There’s parking for six cars at the property, with space to store kayaks and paddleboards.
Ty Rhos Newydd was named on Vrbo’s 2023 Holiday Homes of the Year list.
The Neighborhood:
Llanerch-y-medd (said: HLAN-erch-uh-meth) sits on the east side, right in the heart of the island — a great base for exploring all of Anglesey. From here you can reach both coastlines and the mainland easily, without the endless driving that comes with basing yourself in one of the busier seaside hubs.
It's a peaceful village with a local shop, pub, Post Office, and a heritage centre housed in the old railway station. Nature lovers are well covered too — walk the Anglesey Coastal Path, birdwatch at Llyn Alaw Reservoir, or take in Parys Mountain's striking, lunar-like landscape. Benllech, Bryn Teg, and Moelfre are a short drive away for sandy beaches, cafés and rock pools.
A quiet, central base for walkers, adventurers, and anyone who'd rather spend less time in the car.
Getting Around:
A quiet inland village with limited public transport. Free parking is available on-site, and a car is recommended for exploring the island’s coastlines and trails.
Other Things to Note:
An AHL Damage Waiver is included as standard with every booking. It’s there to protect the property and give you complete peace of mind, covering accidental damage up to £250, so that if something happens, it doesn’t cast a shadow over your stay.
