Fascinating history, you must read the history of these ancient grounds before you take a walk, especially around the 12th century ruins. The staff were lovely but unfortunately the restaurant on the Friday was shambolic, with barely anything available from the already small menu, it took ages to arrive and was missing key ingredients when it eventually did. It's only a small restaurant too and I felt for the young staff doing their absolute best."

Alison at reception was one of the most helpful and kind people in that role. We truly cannot say enough about this hotel."
