"We really enjoyed staying at the Villas at the Palmas de Cortez. The property was quiet and clean and close to the beach, pools, restaurant and bars. The property manager helped us rent a quad which made traversing the town and landscape easy. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The host was quick with communication and accommodating with early and late check-outs. The unit itself was well-appointed with amenities. We recommend this property and would stay here again."

"My teenage daughters and I had a wonderful and adventurous stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms cleaned daily, amenities plentiful for a nice relaxing stay. Friendly shuttle service roundtrip from airport , on-site car rental for trips into town like Malecón. Only down was not being able to enjoy a swim in the beautiful ocean water due to JellyFish in the waters. Wasn't aware but this is usual between May-June months"

"For some strange reason we were not provided the door code prior to arrival. Instruction to contact the host when we arrived. When we arrived and reached out the host he did not respond. We tried to find someone on-site to help us but were told the host had severed ties with the local property manager and so no local representation. After waiting 3 hours, out of frustration, we started to try all windows and patio doors to see if we could get in somehow. We got lucky and found that patio door at the rear had been left unlocked and had a place to stay that night. Should have tried the back door sooner. The host returned our call the next day to apologize and say that "he has had a lot on his mind" in the previous month. Had we not found an open patio door I am not sure what we would have done that night. After a fair amount of haggling, he offered one night's free stay but the negotiation was arduous and it was clear there was not a lot of remorse. I ended up not following up on his offer as I just wanted to move on ... Overall, not a bad condo, a little tired, well located on the beach, photos do over-sell the unit."

"Fantastic location. Having the beach on one side and the pool on the other side of the house is a great setup to be able to find shade. It is a great house for a large family or to hold two families with a nice big open kitchen, living, and dining area. Walkable to shops and restaurants. We could go back for sure. "

"Property is fine but made me think I just should have booked the hotel. I am surprised by all the great reviews. Everybody has different needs so I’ll list pros & cons & you can decide according to your group. Pros: location - walk to everything in town & easy walk to beach, separate private spaces for a group, nice outdoor area, beach towels & beach chairs for your use, AC in all rooms & nice pillows. Cons: The keys! On arrival you get a handful of unlabeled keys out of the lockbox, then you have to figure out which key goes to which door (3 doors). Then you have to make sure someone has the keys every time you leave (need a code entry lock on doors!) Location: in town on an alley, so it’s loud with street noise, barking dogs & the roosters crow all night, no window coverings except see through curtains making it hard to sleep, no lamps just overhead lighting so can’t relax & read in bed at night, old sheets and a small thin bed cover, only one set of towels per person (stayed a week), there is a washer & dryer but no detergent. If you don’t care about extra comforts & are just going to crash here after a day of all the adventures in LB it’s probably fine, but if you want a more relaxing, peaceful & clean space this is probably not the place!"

"The location is amazing. Right on the beach. And that's what we were looking for. It accommodated our large group nicely. My only disappointment was the fact the overall place is tired and hasn't been updated. The dishwasher didn't work, the stove/oven needed to be lit with a lighter and we had a fireball explosion when lighting the oven, and we are very lucky the damage to my son wasn't worse. (His eyebrow was singed off) and lost the hair on one arm, but most importantly, it could have been worse. We also had an AC unit in one room that leaked so terribly, it flooded that side of the floor in one room. Some of twinkly lights outside did not function and the Spa/Hot tub did not work when we arrived. A technician came out to fix it but it never got very warm. So overall, the house feels like it's just not being tended to very closely. We had a great time, as we were there for a wedding so only used the kitchen one night. "
