Historic cabin

The log cabin was the perfect place to relax after a long day on the bourbon trail. We enjoyed the horses behind the property and the neighbors were very friendly.

Great home and host!

Had a great stay at this home for the PGA championship. Home was clean, comfortable and in a great location. Property was peaceful and beautiful and would be great for families with kids. Hosts Tim and Lynn were amazing! Highly recommend!

Log House Stay

Our family really enjoyed staying in this unique log house property. Lots of history with all the creature comforts of modern times. The kids loved the cowboy themed bunk room filled with fun toys. The location was great for exploring nature and yet still close to lots of restaurants and museums in town.

This cabin is truly unique! Very well appointed with cabin motif throughout. Loved hanging out on the breezy front porch after the day's biking. King bed was very comfortable, which is a deal breaker for us. Easy check in/check out. Owners are delightful. Cabin is situated on a large estate within a neighborhood of 5 acre estates. Amazing outdoor play equipment for young kids as well as owners' horses ready for carrot treats. You will love this place and will appreciate all it offers. Close to Louisville Loop recreation trail access points.

Week-long Family Getaway

Definitely recommend! We've stayed with VRBO a few times now and this place was by far our favorite. Our daughter fell in love with the Toy Story/Western theme of the kid's room, and is still talking about it. The hosts were very accommodating, and even let her pet the horses. If you're visiting Louisville or the region, I cannot recommend this place enough for your stay.

Kentucky Paradise

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin; it's far more amazing than pictures can convey. The kids loved the swing set, wagon, and chest of toys in the kids room. Everyone loved feeding the hosts' horses and watching them graze from the very comfortable furniture on the front porch. It was the perfect distance from attractions, restaurants and stores. The hosts were very hospitable and gave excellent recommendations. This has been my family's favorite rental house to date (and we've stayed at many). I highly recommend this property, especially if you have children.

Great cabin, amazing owners

Our group came down for a long weekend and had an absolutely amazing time. It rained a couple of days but that didn’t dampen our spirits. The owners stopped over to check on us, chat a bit, and allowed all the kids to sit on their beautiful horse, Tucker. The yard was very large and the kids loved playing all day. The covered wagon / slide and swingset was a great hit with them too. The adults passed the time playing corn hole and sitting on the massive front porch. We loved it and we will be back!

Christmas Gathering

The cabin was everything that I had hoped it would be. The adults all enjoyed our stay but the 2 1/2 year old grandson was in awe of so many things. I heard him gasp with surprise and joy when he saw the kids bedroom decorated with Toy Story characters, when he saw the outdoor play area, then again when the neighboring horses came up to the fence so we could see them. Tim and Lynn are lovely down to earth people who are quite friendly and accommodating. I will definitely look into going back in the future!

Spectacular Spring Break Getaway

This is exactly what we were looking for! A short(ish) drove from central IL to a quiet cabin that offered modern amenities, friendly hosts and access to activities. Two families of 4 for 8 guests total, kids ranged in age from 4 to 8 and everyone was comfortable and happy. Loved the inviting front porch swing to watch kids playing in the yard. Hosts Tim and Lynn(??) were friendly and informative, providing suggestions and local guidance. Cabin in located in a quiet and private ‘neighborhood’ but can access plenty of family-friendly activities within 20-30 minutes. We visited the zoo, Churchill Downs, parks, outlet malls and more. Plan to return while also spreading the word about this great find!

cousins getaway

This house was very well modernized while keeping the original 1847 character intact. Grandma, daughters, and pre-school cousins had a great time. There was wonderful outdoor space - covered front porch across the whole front of the house, side porch, and acres of yard with two awesome playsets. The owners were super-nice...allowed the kids to pet their horses, even brought one over for a visit. The bedrooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, shower water-pressure was great, kitchen was well-equipped, plenty of seating in the family room. One really nice touch was the motion-sensor lights in the stairway, kitchen, and front door. The house is in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Houses are visible to each other, but not too close. It was very quiet and peaceful. Thanks Tim and Lynn for a great trip!

Family Friendly Cabin

The beauty of this property starts with the drive up where you enter by passing through iron gates. Then you see the amazing front porch with tons of seating options and two ceiling fans, which come in handy on warmer days. The interior decor is perfect for the house’s location in horse country x bourbon trail. The owners are as welcoming and kind as can be and extremely accommodating. They not only responded quickly with restaurant recommendations and any other questions we had, but also went out of their way on a Saturday morning when we experienced an issue with our car. Tim was quick to help and actually figured out the problem, saving us time, stress (and money) on our last full day there. The playset outside and the kids room (complete with toys) are a perfect touch for families like ours with young kids. We had a great time and if we make it back to Louisville again, this is where we would love to stay.

Bourbon Trail visit

Thanksgiving Weekend

The cabin worked perfectly for our family gathering. Our grandson loved the outdoor play places. The kitchen was well supplied and we made a full Thanksgiving feast. Lots of places to play games and visit. The hosts were accommodating and responded promptly to all communications.

Kentucky Country Blast

Property is exceptional. Well kept and cozy, but with a modern twist. Hosts are amazing!! Very attentive. Wonderful vacation

This is a an inspiring home that we found perfect for a vacation in Kentucky. It is very well located for access to the Bourbon Trail and many other sites in Kentucky. The home is at the top of a hill on a large plot of land with wonderful views in all directions. We enjoyed seeing horses graze and many deer early in the morning with fawns. The expansive covered deck on this property is truly awesome and so relaxing - we spent a large amount of time on the deck. The hosts were absolutely terrific. They checked in with us early and in a timely manner, and also checked if we needed anything during our visit. They are wonderful hosts that have thoughtfully placed very nice sitting areas around the large property. The historic home has a lot of character with exposed beam walls in many rooms and every room has fun interesting things to see and enjoy. The home is very comfortable and very well stocked. We plan to return soon!
