"The hosts, Delain and Dana, were absolutely superb. Could not have been better! Everything was as advertised, and even better. For example, the off the grid power system worked flawlessly, there was even more aquatic equipment than expected, and the lake was easily accessible and fun! I would return here anytime!"
Mt Adams Trout Lake 3B2Ba Fenced and Gated 2+ acres quiet scenic. Dog friendly.
8/10 Good
"The house and yard were spacious and provided a nice setting for spending time with family. The property is fenced, though there are horses on site, so we were advised to keep a close eye on our small dog while outside. The upstairs bathroom had an ongoing odor coming from the drain during our stay. The owners suggested using powder in the drain, but unfortunately it did not fully resolve the issue for us.One surprise was that the owners were staying on the property in a camper near the horses. They were friendly and approachable, but we had not realized they would be on site, so the experience felt a bit less private than we expected from a typical VRBO rental. When we arrived at our 4p check in time, the house was still being prepared because they said the cleaner had not shown up — the owner was finishing the cleaning. While we appreciated the effort to get everything ready, it made check-in a little less smooth than anticipated.Overall, the property itself was lovely and worked well for our family. These are simply details I would have found helpful to know in advance when making a booking decision. We stayed 2 out of our 3 nights."
"We had a great weekend stay in the Cougar House, close to great hikes and gorgeous scenery. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our visit. We walked to breakfast at the Lone Pine Resort and dinner at the Cougar Bar & Grill- both great places with friendly staff. We're already planning another trip to explore the area more."
"Excellent for big groups going to the lake. Brought 2 16 foot boats and plenty of room for parking.Downstairs was great for hanging out and I am sure there are some great memories made there. Definitely will be back to explore the lake and area again."
"Great location as home base if you are exploring Mt St Helens. The cabin was clean, well appointed, and a great place to stay with our pup. We cooked at home mostly - we primarily grilled which worked out great (charcoal grill) . Recommend bringing all cooking ingredients like oil, spices, etc. And if you require a high quality non-stick pan, you might want to bring that too.It rained most of the time but we were able to get in some fire pit time, which was lovely and relaxing. Cell reception is poor in the entire area, and while the cabin has WiFi it didn’t seem to handle streaming content well, so we leveraged the vast DVD collection once we were done exploring. It was quite fun to live like it was 1995 again: Besides enjoying the cabin, we hiked Ape Canyon, Lava Canyon falls, and the Ape Caves - all conveniently located (less than 30 min) highly recommend! Also ate at both Lone Fir and Cougar Bar and Grill - both were great. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back and stay!"
Riverfront Lodge - Ideal for small and large groups with room to spread out
10/10 Excellent
"This place was perfect for our group of 20 for a friend group weekend! The yard is huge and the house was super clean and well stocked. Communication with the host was quick and very nice! Highly recommend!"
