Wonderful two-bedroom Apartment with a Bright Open Space in Lugano - PRESTIGE 34

  • Feel at home even on holiday, PRESTIGE 34 will allow you to cook for your family or prepare breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen; and in the summer you can appreciate it even more on the table for 6 on the large crescent-shaped terrace accessible from living room and bedroom. In the living room, the sofa and the two armchairs can accommodate all the 4 guests. The double bedroom has a large closet and comfortably contains your wardrobe even for longer stays, while the colorful bedroom has two single beds. Park your car in the dedicated area: the historic center of Lugano is only 10 minutes away, and in just 5 minutes you can walk along the lakeside!

    Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided. 

    We also leave a gift basket with some necessary items for your first breakfast.

    Free Wi-Fi available. 

    Smoking is strictly prohibited.

    What's nearby:

    The center is less than 10 minutes away on foot, while the lake is even closer: it will take you just 5 minutes to reach the Ciani park, the Lido with its swimming pools, its beach and its tennis court, and the tourist port where you can take the boat. The Exhibition Centre, the main trade fair centre in the city, is only a 5-minute walk away.

    How to arrive: 

    If you arrive by car, from the A2 motorway take Lugano Nord exit and follow the GPS directions: in 10 minutes you will reach the apartment. 

    If you arrive by train, from Lugano station take bus number 6 (direction Viganello) for 4 stops (about 8 minutes) and get off at Ponte Madonnetta stop, then walk for about 500 m. Alternatively, take the bus N.2 (direction Castagnola - Capolinea) for 5 stops (9 minutes) and get off at the Lugano Palazzo Studi stop. Proceed for 550 m on foot (7 minutes) to reach the residence.

The apartment is conveniently located, well-equipped and clean. There is no A/C, which was transparently stated, but a large fan was provided and was very helpful. Unfortunately, the apartment had a bad smell and felt rather sparsely and impersonally furnished, lacking warmth and character. Also make sure to double-check your car’s dimensions before using the parking garage. We were informed via WhatsApp only 45 minutes before our confirmed 3pm check-in that the apartment would not be ready until 4pm. As we were arriving with children, this was inconvenient. We were allowed to drop off our luggage at 3pm, but the apartment was only ready at 4:30pm. The cleaning lady was very nice and worked quickly and efficiently. The instructions prominently state that checking out after 10am incurs an “EXTRA COST OF 50 CHF!!!”. I therefore thought it fair to request the same amount as compensation for the 90-minute delay. This was repeatedly declined; instead, we were offered a late check-out, which was of no use as we were leaving early. Overall, I did not feel fairly treated and found the response rather inflexible. When booking at Expedia I only checked the total price. Later, I saw that the cleaning fee was 130€. I found this odd, but maybe I am not informed/experienced enough to judge this. 3/5 due to the smell, lack of warmth/character, and the handling of the delayed check-in.

Lugano Apartment

Apartment was lovely - plenty of room for 3 people. Having two full bathrooms was a plus. The balcony with view of the mountains was one of the highlights of this beautiful property.
