Ca'Luni

"We arrived after spending a day in Pisa and it was quite humid-hot but as we climbed higher and higher eventually reaching Ca’Luni in Casola in Lunigiana there was a definite fresher air still hot but not humid hot. We were greeted by our hosts whom were most welcoming and spoke very good English which as very helpful as my Italian was a little rusty! The position of Ca’Luni could not be better there is a lovely terraced garden with a small pool ideal for cooling off. The upper floor terrace to the rear overlooks a National Park with the Apuan Alps mountains in the near distant vista, this is where we were served our breakfasts and evening meal. We were upgraded to Casa Anna a lovely wee apartment very comfortable bed with great en-suite facilities. The food here is quite outstanding freshly prepared breakfasts we also booked to eat our evening meals here, we are vegetarian and the food prepared by Antonio was so different and fresh and always packed with flavour, most of the fruit and vegetables are grown in their own garden, he is a chef to be reckoned with and he is fully backed by his wife Antonella she covers the front of house and more, has knowledge of the local vineyards and places to go. We loved our short 3 day stay here in Ca’Luni so much so that we are organising in our heads when we could possibly return."

"Das Haus ist wirklich perfekt für Naturliebhaber, die Abgeschiedenheit und Ruhe suchen.Der Pool ist sehr gepflegt und immer angenehm temperiert.Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist jeden Tag von neuem überwältigend.Man sieht direkt auf den Monte Pisanino, einfach wunderschön."

"Mirella und Francesco sind wunderbare Gastgeber. Sie hielten sich dezent zurück, waren aber gleichzeitig sofort zur Stelle, wenn man etwas gebraucht hat. Das Anwesen ist super für eine große Gruppe wie die unsere: 14 Erwachsene und 10 Kinder von 1 bis 15. Da der Pool an die Terrasse angrenzt, hatte man immer die jüngeren Kinder im Blick. Das war ein großer Pluspunkt. Mirella hat uns ein tolles Abschiedsessen zureitet - unbedingt empfehlenswert! Der Rotwein von Francesco war dazu die perfekte Ergänzung. Die gut ausgestattete Küche im EG wurde für unsere gemeinsamen Abendessen genutzt, im ersten Stock wurde für alle das Frühstück zubereitet. Hat alles super geklappt. Unbedingt auch das Gasthaus am Ende der Straße probieren, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist unschlagbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt bei Mirella und Francesco."

"If you do not speak Italian, it is useful to know how to speak some Italian. The people are very kind and lovely, but it’s helpful to know Italian language. The setting is beautiful and food is delicious at the restaurant. The accommodations are clean, nice. I would return to the place and stay again. It is peaceful and relaxing."

"Hotel is outstanding, it’s over 500 years old and it’s immaculate, food was great, very quiet, first time we have ever stayed in a Palace, room was large with a King bed. My only criticism is that it doesn’t have a true shower. Staff were so polite and accommodating ….we loved the place. Shout out to Lucia who checked us in made us feel so welcome. Appreciated Irina’s help this morning on the check out. "
