"I loved that old cottage and am glad it is in good use. It's nicely furnished and the village where it is situated is delightful. Two negatives were the dog smell in the lounge and poor state of plants in pots. While the dog smell is probably unavoidable as dogs are allowed, the dead plants brought about a depressing impression. Being a gardener, I tried to look after the remaining plants and had to transplant one huge heuchera plants that was literally hanging in the air as its pot was...

Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel

8/10 Good

"Receptionist was really nice. Room was average but we were only there two nights so not that concerned. Location was great within walking distance of the town which is what we needed."

The Devon Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Me and my partner stayed here to visit the fireworks, and we had a lovely stay, the staff were very approachable and friendly, the room was nicely decorated and clean. The gym facilities were good, and the bar that was a stone throw away was very convenient and all the staff in there were very nice. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the bar/restaurant and it was very good and reasonably priced. If we ever plan a trip to exeter again we would be staying here, no complaints on our stay."
