Nice hotel in rundown area

"Lovely hotel in a very rundown street with closed down hotels around about . The young guy on reception was miserable and no interaction or even a hello or goodbye check-in / out. Bar area nice but once again miserable barman. Room was red hot and no window to open."

"It was my 3rd (or 4th?) stay at Thurham Hall and for the first time I was staying in a very nice suite in the main building (as opposed to an apartment). The suite was beautiful and really comfy, but not without small issues. The wall by the door is thin with noisy floorboards on the stairs outside ..."
