My sister and I had a pleasant stay. Our only complaint is that they haven’t updated their website to list 10:30 as checkout time . The website says 11:00. I stated this in last year’s review but it still hasn’t been addressed.

Newly renovated, beautiful view of the river, friendly staff, comfy beds, amazing restaurant (Helen's) in the same parking lot. Only complaints were: The pillows (too firm, woke up multiple times because of this, woke up with a stiff neck/muscle spasms) There's no desk or even a table to use for computer and no chairs upstairs on the deck to use outside. On the 2nd floor, the balcony is one long deck so people walk by your room. Make sure your sliding door is locked! No privacy on the balcony obviously.

Fabulous sunrises and sunsets. Great location for birders. Helen’s restaurant is famous for their wild Maine blueberry pie. (And other food too!)

We checked in after hours and the process they had set up was fairly easy. However, since the check in was after hours, we were not able to point out to the staff that one of the bed comforters had spots on them which looked like dried blood. The next morning at check out, I brought this to the attention of the person at the service desk. I showed them the pictures of the comforter and they took my information down and said the manager will be giving me a call. It’s been over a week since my stay and I still have not heard from the manager. This is unprofessional business etiquette.

Pleasing experience. Hotel was great. Unfortunately the first 3 restaurants were either not open or actually closed. Couple nice local sightseeing areas. Staff very friendly.

Lovely renovated hotel in Machias
Hotel was recently renovated. Our room was clean and newly updated with frig, microwave, and a beautiful view of the river. (Most, if not all rooms, have this view.) Grounds are well maintained. Enjoyed sitting on Adirondack chairs in the back. Great hotel!!

I needed a hotel room for my sister who was visiting from out of state. She had a very comfortable and clean room, and she absolutely loved the balcony looking out over the Machias River.

My stay at the Machias River Inn was very comfortable, conveniently located as i was working in the area. Clean. I would recommend to anyone. Loved the view on the river in the mornings and evenings.

We spent the evening watching the eagles and osprey fly high over the river. We saw pulvers and had a view of the bad little falls. How could you not like then there were the fish jumping high out of the water. What a view. We will be back again.

We were expecting much better for almost $200.00/night. Old & outdated. Window AC in the wall was extremely noisy. Great view of the river is all it has going fornit. Way over priced.

Was by the river- I enjoyed watching the birds and the tides. Was a very pleasant two night stay; a very nice restaurant nearby but we could not find a place to get breakfast. The town needs a coffee cafe!

Great stay!!
Everything was great. It was a bonus to have a great restaurant share the parking lot. It’s nice to get checked in and be able to walk to supper. This hotel has been the best that we have stayed at moving up the coast to a different location each night. A little pricey but everything thing is a bit pricey anymore. Will recommend to all!!
