Comfortable, quiet and clean room in an old pub c1700. Full of character. Superb menu and food. Lively bar with Sky Sports. Plenty of nonsite, safe parking.

hotel is tired in areas but looks like its getting a bit of an update, our room had a very sloping floor and one of the mattresses on the bed had a big dip in it. However for the price we paid and including breakfast which was really good and evening meals were very large portions and good value for money we were happy enough

I had read many reviews about this hotel before booking, all positive and calling the place “excellent”. After my stay I found myself wondering if I’d stayed in the same place! It was at best mediocre and certainly does not live up to its 3star rating. We had booked for two nights but as we had made two separate bookings the venue couldn’t accommodate us in the same room so we had to leave at 10.30 to return to check back in at 14.00. Both rooms had their own set of problems. First room was damp and smelled. The fire door would not shut without force and the window would not open. Second room was in better condition but the fire escape route was via the room, the fire door had an inch gap at the bottom so most certainly would not adhere to the regulatory 30mins required. The toilet seat was not fixed, the kettle was too large to fill and no bedside tables or lights. The hotel/bar was a dingy place that smelled and had clutter everywhere, the staff gave contradictory information on check in leaving us a little confused. I will not be rushing back

Generally pretty good. Ample parking. Food available all day. Locals are friendly. Beer was nice. We had 2 different rooms and one had been refurbished nicely and the other was a bit old. Mostly quiet but during bar hours there was a noise that I can only guess had something to do with extractor fans. But once food service finished it stopped so shouldn't affect sleep. We had an issue with pricing through Expedia, no fault of the hotel, yet they compensated us with breakfast, so grateful for the kindness.

Great Accommodation, first class.
Very pleased with the accommodation, the room was excellent. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. I can say that the food is also excellent. We enjoyed our stay and would go there again.

Good choice
It's really a pub with a few rooms. In a good central location with free parking. Room was a bit dated but comfortable. Excellent breakfast.

Staff were pleasant and competent...rooms were a lot older than in the photos (floors rickety...window not square means permanent air conditioning...bathroom dated but nice)...good atmosphere and food in the pub...OK for the price...needs lots of upgrades to make the property top notch!

My new stop off.
Great little bedroom. A good on suit bathroom. Clean and tidy . Staff were very friendly. Lovely local pub atmosphere if you choose to have a pint. I'll be using this place again when im in the area .

One night stay, good location centre of town, old coaching inn, our room in need of refurb, TV remote didn’t work, staff replaced batteries without success. Bedside light didn’t work, Entry door had “Yale” type lock but with no lock inside, only widow on Fire exit door which left us feeling insecurely overnight Food was good and quick staff extremely helpful. Ou get what you pay for

A Commercial Hotel
Didn't meet expectations... seems to be promoted as a nice play to stay for a weekend away or with the family, but reality (IMO) was what used to be called a commercial hotel I certainly wouldn't take my partner or family to this one Everything a little tired and well worn And if you want to lie in bed and listen to a cold water tank in the attic above refilling all night then i suggest you request room 6

Check resturant closing times and hope.
Overall happy but dissappoint to arrive at 8.50pm after a 3 hour drive to be told the resturant was closed at 9pm, so confused how the time zone works in Wales across the boarder that would have made me 10mins early. Then told theirs a chip shop up the road, so decided to have a bag of crisps.

It is a homely place. I only stayed one night with 2 other friends. The price is great. Hotel staff very accommodating My only issue is that it creaked a lot when walking within the hotel room

The room was basic but clean. The beds werent comfortable, the double was a sofa bed which i couldnt sleep on as i have a bad back so my husband slept on it with my 9 year old son and the two single beds had very springy mattresses which werent very comfy. My meal in the evening was ok but i was disappointed but my family had nice meals. The breakfast was ok except the bacon was very fatty. The pub/hotel could do with some modernisation but for one night it sufficed our needs.

The hotel appeared to need a little updating, paintwork etc. Room was ok but bed a little low for two people in their sixties! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was good, especially the full Welsh breakfast. As a stop-over like us it was ok but I would not use it as a base!
