The service provided is super friendly and super helpful. Hugo the Manager is such a class act, nothing is too much trouble for him or his staff. Special Mention also to Gorati who ran the show in terms of the Dining, Bar and Breakfast set up. A Beautiful personable lady who made our experience so welcoming. We cannot wait to return in 2025. Its been 7 years prior to this week since we last visited, we will be coming back for sure.

A great long weekend break
A short break booked at the last minute, we found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful and hotel is ideally located to Funchal centre. The breakfast offering was great with very good selection of food to choose from. The only thing I would say was that the bed was a little too firm for both my wife and I, this is obviously a personal thing. Overall a great stay and I would recommend to friends and family.

Although the hotel boasts a fantastic staff and an excellent location, our experience was marred by several issues. The noise levels in the hotel were exceptionally high, compounded by a nearby nightclub blaring loud music until 8am every Friday and Saturday. Additionally, there was ongoing construction beneath our room throughout our stay, which proved to be highly disruptive. Our room felt rather dim, to the extent that we needed a flashlight to navigate the obscured wardrobe. While the pool seemed inviting, it unfortunately served as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Moreover, the pool bar service was practically non-existent, prompting most guests to venture downstairs for a drink due to the lack of service. I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone.”

Hotel needs repairs and management don’t care
The a/c didn’t work, clogged bathroom sink, door going to balcony broken, glass next to door spiderwebbed, had to move to a second room because we couldn’t get into our first room, had to repack to move, send hotel director an email since there is no site manager and he never responded.

Excellent Hotel in every way
Very friendly staff, super clean hotel, excellent breakfast. The welcome drink was a Lovely touch! Perfect location and gret views from the pool area. Would highly recommend. If you are a football fan (regardless of the team) its a fun hotel with a chilled atmosphere.

It was a good stay overall. However the lighting in the room was awful. It’s not enough light to do anything. We have to use flashlights to pack our bags. I emailed the hotel a few times before landing to ask about airport shuttles but never got a response. Breakfast was the same things everyday…not the best. They should be a water station that guests can use for water without being charged. The staff was very friendly and nice!!

I had a few issues with my booking where Expedia over charged me, but Expedia Customer Service are absolutely awful and do not care about quality customer service, that is based on my experience so far! This has still not been resolved due to Expedia's poor service. Whereas the CR7 hotel experience was fantastic! The staff at reception and in the restaurant were fantastic & extremely helpful! Breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner was great! The facilities at the hotel were great with a nice roof top pool, sauna, jaccuzi and outdoor gym! The location is great and 15-20min to walk to the old town.

It’s a good experience. However the back door of my room didn't lock (was broken), had to wait for someone to fix it. The room was very dark with only blue light under the bed and over the curtain to guid you. Would be perfect for a honeymoon instead of a holiday stay hotel. In my bathroom was a fake “camera” on the top corner of the wall. Made us uncomfortable. The curtains are so high we couldn’t reach to close it properly. The air con wasn’t really working.

Great location and staff! Buffet breakfast was incredible. Comfy beds. Loved the complimentary drinks during check in which was fast and also the complimentary tickets to CR7 museum. Excellent stay. View of Marina was nice as well.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great stay. The staff was amazing and answered all of our questions. Breakfast in the morning had lots of options and was nice to have the restaurant in the lobby for a quick bite during the day. Parking was technically ‘off site’ but was under the hotel and the elevators access the hotel. Rooms were basic but spacious. Bed firm, rooms quiet, and cleaned daily. Our ocean facing view was occasionally blocked by the cruise ships docking (knew this prior due to other reviews). Only a few minutes away from the old town and tons of restaurants near by. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Great location. Good service. Great breakfast. But the loungers and chairs outside are very tired. Yea and coffee facilities could be improved. But I would recommend the room overlooking the cruise ships. It was something different to enjoy everyday.

Excellent location on the waterfront in Funchal. Wonderful views of the carnival processions from the hotel. Ideal hotel to stay in during the many waterfront activities ie flower festival new year fireworks

Modern and very convenient
Very convenient location close to the old part of Funchal. Modern rooms and quiet environment despite the central location near the boats The breakfast buffet is also very good.

Nice hotel and good value for money. Problem with noise from bar below our room in first night. Reception excellent service following morning moved us to quieter room. Worth staying if you want to down time in Funchal.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and paid for a superior room. We were a bit underwhelmed and didn't think the hotel was 4 star standard - more like a 3 star hotel. The rooms were quirky and clean so no real problem there. However, cruise ships blocked the ocean view which for us was very disappointing, we had paid the extra money for the view and not to look straight at a ship! We did express our disappointment on departure and would not stay here again.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff are really superb. They were so helpful and seemed to know everything. The food was excellent- lots of choice for breakfast and the lunch is great value. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the rooftop facilities were very nice and we made the most of those. We would not hesitate to return here. There can be some noise from the cruise ships anchored very close by would be the only downside.

Great location. Spotlessly Clean. Doubt if you could find better staff anywhere - will go out of their way to help. Restaurant service and food excellent. This is our second visit and where we will stay on our next visit to the island. Why go anywhere else if you are satisfied with where you have stayed previously?

Love the big pillows in the room, also the nice soft robes available for the guests if needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent !

The CR7 Pestana hotel is located by the Marina in Funchal within walking distances to various points of interest. It’s a small hotel with a rooftop infinity pool that’s situated right above the CR7 museum. The complimentary breakfast had a varying selection and the staff was amazing. My only complaint would be that in the times we used the pool there wasn’t a bartender behind the bar. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning to further explore the truly beautiful island of Madeira.

I loved the location, how modern it was, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was amazing, everyone of them were helpful and very nice. My boys loved everything that had to do with CR7!
