The check in process took some time. Apparently they didn’t have the key for the room and I had to wait for them to go retrieve it from a guest. Parking lot is very small so you have to park on the street. I don’t know if it was just the room we stayed in or what but the bathroom STUNK of septic/sewage. It made the room smell as well. Luckily i always travel with room spray so that helped a whole lot. We had to keep the bathroom door closed the entire time to help to keep the smell in one place. It was so bad, I slept (which I barely did because the mattress was so hard & I could feel the springs) in a face mask and had to wear one any time I went to the bathroom because it was making me nauseous. On top of that, there were power surges and the power would go off and come back on every 5 minutes. This may have been due to the rain but from other reviews, I see that it’s something that happens often. Maybe it’s time they get a permanent solution and get a generator. The only good things I can say about this property are the proximity to the airport and the price. But remember, you get what you pay for …

The building was clean enough and we were glad we had an ocean view however the property was very dated and basic. We did have concerns as the screen door to the balcony did not lock and we had to close the big metal doors but then it was stuck closed. Check in said 2 but we had to wait over an hour for our room and was given a bit of attitude about it. We were glad to have only stayed one night.

Not ideal .
We had room #30- We reserved a double bed and got 2 twin beds- extremely uncomfortable. There was a dreadful smell in our room and the floor creaked so badly every time we made a move it disturbed the room below. Parking was tight and you could hear every noise from every room. When you turned on a tap the water system squealed - not just in our room. We used the hot tub once- it was usually occupied. We would stay elsewhere next year.

Hidden gem! I loved chilling in the hot tub after dinner and a long day out hiking. The restaurant is also quite good (had dinner there one evening), really lovely helpful staff

Great place, out of the way, good views and an on site restaurant.close to a lot of the levada walks. But would recommend a car if you are planning on going all over the island. Staff were friendly except perhaps on the first day when checking in where the guy seemed a little less than helpful. Only small bit of feedback I would give is that the pictures in the advertisement are of the new building, there is the possibility of getting put in the older original building which is far more basic, to avoid this make sure you get the sea view rooms. Overall would recommend.

Great, pleasant stay in a nice location
Great, pleasant stay. The stuff is very helpful, fantastic location, wonderful view from the pool, good restaurant. The parking is sometimes more complicated for the people located in the upper section, we had to keep the car near the restaurant, 100 m from our room. All in all to recommend.

Skønt ophold over nytår
Vi var rigtig glade for at have booket os ind her for et par nætter over nytår. Meget stille og smukt område. Heldigvis er der er en god kok på stedet så vi havde intet problem i også at spise her. Vejret var smukt og på trods af rum med bjergudsigt kun var ledige, kunne man også se havet her fra, da det er synligt på begge sider af hotellet og ydermere fik vi solnedgangen. Der var fin plads til at gå i spa alene og også til nyde opholdsrummet. Medarbejderne var ekstrem venlige og parkering på vejen var ikke et problem. Kan klart anbefales!

Hallo das personal war immer freundlich und zuvorkommend das Zimmer top sauber und gut ausgestattet. Wirlpool und Pool waren auch top. Die Parkplätze bzw die möglichkeiten waren für das obere gebäude nicht so gut. Nur 4 oder 5 vorhanden und sonst auf der Straße die sehr steil ist. Im restaurant war es immer sehr lecker aber sehr einfältig. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr klein und wenig auswahl und in der karte ja gab es Fisch mit Gemüse oder Fleisch mit Fritten . Da wäre was abwechslung ganz nett wenn man vor allem mehrere tage da ist . Sonst war alles zur vollsten Zufriedenheit.

Ruhige Umgebung und ein traumhafter Blick auf das Meer. Der Check in und Check out waren ohne Probleme. Rund um war die Unterkunft recht sauber. Auf dem Dach ist ein schöner Whirlpool sowie ein Pool. Man darf aber kein Luxushotel erwarten.

Die Lage auf den Klippen ist genial und die Sonnenuntergänge auch. Genügend Möglichkeiten sich auszuruhen oder zu schwimmen. Feines Frühstücksbuffet und abends feine Spezialitäten im Restaurant, dass alles bei einer freundlichen und kompetenten Bedienung.

The location is amazing! Can not be beaten. Unfortunately we seemed to have been given the "last let" room (so stay away from room 40!) which is very small (almost only bed width) in comparison to its neighbouring rooms of the same category. The TV is miniature (24") and hangs high on the wall as there is simply no other space in the room and the "table" struggles to place a laptop on. Location is right by the entrance, so everyone of the other 10 rooms on the corridor must walk past it and the door is paperthin. We asked to be moved, but this was refused (other guests did check in after us)... not what was expected of a Premium Double Room with Seaview. At first the terrace doors didnt lock, but that was fixed. All was very clean! Dinner at the restaurant unfortunately wasnt a winner as the "traditional meat on spit" turned out to be the worst on the entire trip - sent half back. As compensation we were offered a "complimentary shot", however all others received this as part of service and bill... It was nice to have a game of pool billard and darts at night in the hotels play/communal area. Overall... so much potential and one could have done better!

Die Zimmer waren kalt und feucht! Die Heizung lief nur auf handwarm! Im Badezimmer keine Heizung vorhanden! Üble Gerüche aus den Abflüssen… Katastrophales Frühstück! Zum Teil altes Brot, immer gleiche Wurst und Käse, keine Eierspeisen! Nie mehr wieder!!!

War eine schöne und sehr einfache Unterkunft.Aber sehr abgelegen Auto wird empfohlen. Mit Bus erreichbar aber fahren nicht regelmässig oder man wartet sehr lange. Busfahrt nach Funchal je nach zeit 1 bis 11/2h.

Great stay
Amazing view! We stayed 2 nights at the hotel, and it was perfect for us. The parking for Pico Ruivo and the Nevada caldeira Verde is only a short drive away, and when you get back from adventure; a swim in the pool or a soak in the jacuzzi is just the right thing. The panoramic view from our room was the cherry on top!
