Yeah its not bad

It is what it is, the location is brilliant the facilities are reasonable for the price. Good for solo travellers or those who don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room and want to explore the city. The bed was fine, the room was fine the building was maintained.

Everything you read in the low review comments turned out to be true. Check in process was not great. There was a huge line in front of the checkin machine. All the tourists were frustrated. You can call or send a WhatsApp messages but it's really up to the hotel staff probably working from home remotely to respond. They gave me a room very far inside the building where I could not even get a phone reception. WiFi wasn't working either. I messaged them but got ignored. I gave up. After all, it was my fault for choosing a cheap hostal. The building and my room smelled off so I wanted to get a fresh air so I opened the window and boom just cockroaches. It was really uncomfortable throughout my stay. That being said, the location is great. I was able to walk to all the popular places. I felt safe in the area as well. Good thing about staying this hotel was that it was so gross that it forced me to stay outside and explore Madrid as much as I can as opposed to stay inside the hotel.

You have an automated checkin and NOBODY to talk to, there are 3 numbers to call but they never answer, room key stopped working multiple times and took over an hour to get someone to answer the phone to get us a new key. We had 2 separate rooms that this happened to. Our first night was for a single room and we were a couple and could not get anyone to answer emails and/or phone to move rooms until the next day. Finally moved to a new room the next day, mold in both bathrooms. Another lady had same problem, but worse. In middle of night some random man walked in her room because they gave him the wrong key card!

It could have a better maintenance. Some painting and new furniture and bedding. The blanket was old but clean. Pillows were horrible. Good and clean towels. I probably do not return because the pictures didn't match the rooms.

The check in machine seemed easy until we got to our room and our keycard did not work. We then were stuck waiting for over 30 minutes just trying to contact hotel staff because there was no one on site to help us. The same thing happened the second day of our stay when the keycard stopped working again. One of the bathrooms in our room was also out of service and the other one was so small that the door didn’t fully open. We also found cockroaches in our room.

Room had a very bad smell, the walls were damaged, bed was uncomfortable and very squeaky. Thin walls, so it was a bit noisy overnight. Check-in kiosk was confusing for us and other guests, and using the pre-check-out caused us to be locked us out of our room before the appointed time. (Luckily we found maintenance staff to help us out.) Yes, it's a hostel in a good location, but not worth the nightly price IMO.

Check in was chaos via a machine. Lots of angry people unable to check-in. The place isn't staffed despite the high rates they charge. I won't return.

Smoke smelly room

The room smelled so bad of cigarette smoke, it was unbearable. The head piece of the bed started to vibrate out of nowhere. Extremely noisy. I wouldn't go back there. I recommend everyone to think it twice before coming here.

Loud drunk people will roam the halls screaming from 1AM to 7AM, if you express your discomfort you are going to get insulted, and maybe assaulted, depending on the kind of drunk you encounter. I could not sleep for more than an hour straight. Terrible stay if its thursday to sunday.

There is no reception desk staffed by people. You have to communicate by WhatsApp. The first room was terrible and nothing like what was shown in the pics. It was dark with 1 window and 2 separate beds. However, we asked them to swap the room with another that had 2 big doors and natural light. This was accommodated. Would not reccomend this place. Only plus was the price was low.

Unfortunately this place was way below similar options in Madrid. The room and the wall were extremely dirty and need a renovation. The blanket were clearly not changed between guests, full of hair and stains which was disgusting. I ended up sleeping on my clothes to avoid to touch the bed sheets. Horrible and I won’t recommend, there are lots of other options within the same budget

Horrific experience. We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by sheets with cigarette burns in, stains on the surfaces, mucas on the wall, exposed wires and more. We instantly informed the hotel that we would not be staying. They told us to send pictures and we did immediately. They didn't reply. When I asked them two days later about the situation regarding a refund, they said that they would not be refunding us because it wasn't confirmed the moment, even though we followed the instructions. Dreadful rooms and dreadful service.

This place is absolutely awful. I was never told how to get into the building, I had to wait for someone coming out to let me in. Once inside, there is no front desk, check-in is done via a machine. The other guests basically checked me in. My room was nothing like in the pictures, there was a tiny little window that gave onto a minuscule air-shaft full of blasting air-conditioners. The place was stuffy, smelly, I moved to another hotel after the first night and informed the hotel. I never received a reply to any of my messages, they just took my money. Do not go to this place, it’s a scam.

The property was in a convenient location and considerably affordable, but not as it seemed in the ad. There was no actual front desk to speak to people, so it was really difficult to figure out how to check in, or to even to get into the building. You have to call a Spanish phone number for help with anything, so make sure you have international calling. The single rooms were extremely cramped, the outlet next to the bed was broken, the desk and walls were scratched and stained, and worse of all, the hallways echo really badly. You can hear everything happening, people talking, babies crying, people walking, suitcases rolling... I could even hear people sneeze. Every night I was woken up by something. VERY VERY misleading how the advertisement says "soundproofed". This is absolutely not the case. Not soundproofed in the least.

Avoid. Terrible bed. Terrible bathroom. Good wifi

A great location but close to the most uncomfortable hotel I have stayed in. On top of that the entry and check-in processes are arcane. The entry phone didn’t work so I relied on a stranger letting me in while exiting. The receptionist demanded a deposit for the A/C and TV remote controls! If you are interested, following is a list of problems… • rubber covered pillow with little support and less filling. • rubber mattress made it difficult to turn over and the effect of sleeping in a boiling pool of sweat. • tiny shower wasn’t cleaned, no shelf for my soap/shampoo, a handcleaner dispenser and mixer take up 3/4 of the little space. The 2D mixer control is positioned so that every move I made resulted in being scolded or frozen. • there is a huge toilet roll holder over the toilet seat making it imposible for me to sit straight on the toilet • tiny bed • wardrobe right at the end of the bed so I kicked it when turning over • the power goes off when you leave the room meaning I couldn’t charge my phone while I was out • they charge for the room safe On the plus side the wifi was excellent.
