"First thing you do - check all reviews online for truthfulness. About 90% of all existing reviews of this place on TA are written by accounts that have one posting. Draw your conclusions accordingly. At the hotel check-in was friendly, room (Beach Villa with plunge pool) was clean, functional, nothing posh. Fixtures worn out, water pressure soso..the place was run as Hilton before and so the setup still makes sense, but the new owners probably never ran a 5star under competition before. When you take a closer look you will see things are worn out. Food was a straightforward disaster except the onsite Japanese place. Breakfast did mange to go south every day and the wine list is a bummer..staff is non attentive nor trained, good half forgets orders and the food is cheapest wholesale (we went to other places and were able to get the quality we were looking for at half price, still overpriced but at spot). They seemingly try to make 10x margin on everything they sell to you. Food quality is at best 3star. To be fair staff is trying their best but probably it´s worth considering to hire ONE international senior chef into the team if 90% of guests are international. The "Pina Colada" i got at 8pm looked exactly same at 8am next day, with the foam still there, talk about no preservatives added :-)) I am feeling sad for those who saved to make such trip. I just lost a week i could have spend in NYC or elsewhere. Go Four Seasons and sleep well. That said, Good Bye and Good Luck."

"The definition of Paradise We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff is warm and friendly, the location is secluded and peaceful, and the beach is gorgeous, where in April, we were pretty much the only people around. We had planned to go into town on one of our two days, but the beauty and peace of the place convinced us to stay put to enjoy the wonderful location. We had all our meals at the hotel and they were reasonably priced and tasty. I hope to return someday."

"We stayed 5 nights. The resort and grounds and beach are spectacular. Staff super-friendly. Large room with full amenities and view. Excellent breakfast buffet. BUT ... Meals are double the reasonable price, and very ordinary. I cook better at home. e.g. Caesar Salad was missing bacon and poached egg, price USD50. Most of the evening dishes are lunch style, e.g. poke bowl, sashimi, salads. The steak and fish meals are USD100+. I would stay again, but take some local advice and find a local restaurant."

"The rooms were maintained and cleaned to a very high standard The staff were very courteous always greeted you with a smile on their face and never went past you without saying hello. The reception staff were very accommodating Suman on front desk who received us was very good. In fact, all the staff were amazing restaurant staff in old restaurants they got to know what I wanted very fast and at one stage I just need you to sit down at the table and whatever I needed to eat was there !! Good selection on breakfast, fruits fresh juices, breads and Alcote menu used to order from. And a waffle and pancake station to boot.! The outdoor pool area was nice overlooking to see I took a private villa room with a pool, which was absolutely amazing and very peaceful and private"
