Lareau Farm Inn

"Loved the overall vibe and service during our stay. The rooms are cozy and there are several public living spaces to hang out, meet guests, etc Breakfast was fantastic - made to order from a small menu of choices in a sunny, roomy dining area with plenty of tables. We unfortunately didn’t get to try American Flatbread, the happening elevated pizza restaurant attached to the inn as they were very busy that night and we were sort of brushed off upon arrival and left immediately. The only issue we had was the bathroom. It’s an old house so the antique sink is in the corner of the room (which is fine and the kind of thing you expect when staying in old inns) but the actual bathroom had a couple issues. One is the shower curtain was strung on an old rusty cafe curtain rod hanging on wooden closet dowel holders so not secure and when opening and closing (it fell off after a shower) and just looks rather distasteful. Also the toilet cleaning brush holder was very old and dirty looking and very visible in the tiny space. Not pleasant to look at and made me wonder how clean the bathroom really was. Bed was very comfortable, decor was spot in for an antique inn and service was fine. If we are ever in the area we would consider staying there again."

"What a gem of a place! We only landed this place on short notice because someone else had to cancel. We really lucked out! Brandon and his family really made us feel at home. Our room was charming and so comfortable. The living room was welcoming and enabled us to visit with other travelers while enjoying some home scrumptious homemade goodies and hot tea. Brandon and his wife were a wealth of knowledge on the area and we enjoyed visiting with them. Breakfast was delish! We will definitely plan ahead to reserve a longer stay next time."

"The property is spacious and beds comfortable. Lots of privacy. Driving into it at night seemed really remote BUT the next day we saw how close it is to other houses and only about 2 blocks off the main road. All bedrooms are upstairs!"

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! We stayed for a full week, and the setting on a country dirt road with open pastures and the mountains looming above was picture-perfect, just as depicted! The beautiful historic Pine Brook Covered Bridge is practically adjacent to this property, and a delight to walk and drive through, a big bonus to staying here. Inside the house itself, everything was neat and tidy. We especially appreciated the updated bathroom with large walk-in shower and expansive vanity. The queen bed mattress upstairs was a DREAM and better than our bed at home! … For nature lovers we advise the Mad River Valley Greenway for a beautiful, easy, scenic hike— only 1 mile from the house! All in all this was a great place to stay and we highly recommend the Historic Valley View in Waitsfield!"

"What an incredible stay! We cannot recommend this place more. The location was beautiful, the space was adorable and roomy. Everyone we met were super friendly. All of the food establishments we tried were delicious and make sure to stop over at Emily’s Bar and Bistro- you’ll feel like you are on the set of “Cheers”"
