"Upon arrival the front desk staff and owner were arguing. After checking in and going to our room, then back down to the lobby for dinner, the front desk staff and owner were still arguing, needless to say, it was very uncomfortable. Location is perfect! There’s no way to adjust the temperature in the room, individually, sleeping with doors shut makes it very hot. I wouldn’t stay here again because of this. They do keep the outside doors open in the back, cats come in ( I love cats, I have 2 myself) and there was a urine scent by the games/ books. Decor was gorgeous, the artwork amazing. Advertised and sound proof, walls yes, windows, no. If you’re a light sleeper probably not where you want to stay. Otherwise be prepared to hear the local kids’ cars, music, partying. Which is fine, it’s their home, just good to be aware of."

"Jermo was truly an incredible host who went above and beyond to make sure we were completely safe and accounted for during Hurricane Lala. The house was one of the safest places to be during the hurricane, our power never went out and the house itself was super sturdy and could withstand the high velocity winds. The bathrooms were really nice and updated and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with absolutely everything you’d need. We definitely hope to come back again sometime!"
Hale Nihi - Paia, Maui

"Pristine stay in an unbeatable Paia location I had a wonderful stay at Hale Nihi. The property was absolutely pristine, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with all of the amenities advertised. For me, though, the real standout was the location. You can easily walk to Mana Foods for groceries, as well as seemingly endless restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shopping in the heart of Paia. Beautiful North Shore beaches are also nearby, making this an ideal home base for exploring this part of Maui. One small clarification for future guests: despite the "Bed & Breakfast" name, this isn't a traditional B&B where breakfast is prepared or served. You'll be making your own breakfast or heading into town—which is hardly a hardship given the location! I highly recommend walking a block to Story Maui presents The Daily Pour for a great coffee and breakfast sandwich. Avis was a terrific host—prompt, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. Everything was straightforward from arrival through departure. Hale Nihi was also an unexpectedly perfect location for cyclists. I did the Haleakala sea-to-summit ride during my stay, and being in Paia put me right at the base of the ride. Even better, Maui Sunriders Bike Co. is within easy walking distance of the property and they were amazing to work with. If you want a spotless, well-equipped place where you can park the car and experience Paia largely on foot, this is your place."

"Our stay at The Banyon Tree B&B was amazing. We had nine in our party, everyone had their own space and multiple wonderful spaces to gather together, particularly at the amazing pool and hot tub with incredible views of Maui and the water. The grounds are spectacular with gorgeous plantings everywhere. The host, Heleina, was so kind and responsive to any issue that came up. The spaces were clean, comfortable and welcoming. The house is situated in the hills of Makawao, away from the touristy areas with only a short drive to downtown Makawao or Paia for a little shopping and dining, which cannot be beat. I would highly recommend the Banyon B&B."

"Hosts are very nice and friendly! They live on property which makes asking for help very easy.Eve was there when we arrived to give us a quick tour and overview of the place. She was available via text whenever I had a question, which put our minds at ease.Our family of 10 found the house a really great fit for our family trip. We enjoyed being able to walk around the property and taking in the peaceful garden as well. Kids were curious and entertained by the chickens, cats, and very friendly dogs. The Jenga and puzzles were a fun touch while we were in between meals at the house.I will say that during our stay because it rained, the mosquitos were out in full force. So getting in and out of the car was always a mad dash. There were also a few geckos roaming around, which is to be expected, and yet will always be surprising when you see them. These were not issues because we understood being on a larger nature property, it comes with the territory.They were even great when we forgot a few things at the house and saved them for us to pick up. Truly so nice!"

"This is an excellent location for Haleakalā sunrise and also the back road to Hana. I highly recommend leaving early and doing the back road to Hana, it was amazing to have the road basically to yourself until you reach PipiWai Trail. As for the property, it is beautiful and clean and the views are lovely. Delightful hosts. But honestly the setup is a bit odd-you can really hear every little thing the hosts are doing in the kitchen, so it isn’t truly private. Just a flimsy plastic door separates you in the downstairs. And the only available sink is the bathroom sink so if you want to rinse off dishes you use or fill your hiking water bladder, etc, you use the bathroom sink. So it’s a nice place but I wouldn’t stay more than two nights."
