Amazing stay! Me and my parents enjoyed our stay, and we would recommend this to anyone! Some highlights: - Peaceful location - Healthy and delicious food - only 10 rooms - Amazing staff -The only minus was the wifi and drive to the location

Very friendly and great service. Small but delicious menu with soup, catch, dish, dessert and cocktail of the day. Fresh-made ice tea and limonade. Very clean apartment. If you are looking for beautiful and calm place, I really recommend Clover Island!

Amazing holiday spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The pool and beach were amazing and relaxing and the staff was also very friendly and caring. The breakfast became a bit repetitive over a few days, but the rest of the menu was pretty varied, and food was good. We also did an activity which staff was able to sort out for us, along with transfers in and out of the hotel, which was very useful.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Clove Island. The food and drinks were fantastic and the staff were amazing and very friendly. They were readily available to help and answer any questions we had during our stay. When it came to booking transportation to get around Zanzibar, they made the process easy. The property is nice, if you are looking for a cozy, quiet place secluded from the hustle and bustle, stay here. Also steps away from the beach and safe.

Fabulous

Absolutely incredible place to stay if relaxation is your goal. All the staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. Hosts were very generous with their knowledge and advice surrounding the area and the island in general. Definitely coming back at some point in the near future.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax as there is not much to do in the surrounding area. There are not a lot of villas on the property which makes it really personal and nice. The rooms look even better than the photos and the place is very clean. The whole villa area was beautiful. The food was great and so were the massages. The staff was also wonderful and always very helpful and welcoming. I definitely recommend staying here.

The property was very nice and the villas were wonderful. It is small with limited villas, which makes it very personal. The food at the restaurant was tasty as well. More options for breakfast would have been nice. The only downfall was the beach, it is really not very user friendly. We went to another beach. The pool was wonderful. Thanks for an amazing stay.

The host, May was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the air condition in the room has issued so she told us upfront and gave us options of either relocating us to another hotel or get free lunch whiles they work on it. Of course, we took the free lunch and the air condition was fined by evening time. The place came as advertised 👍

Gorgeous hotel with amazing staff

I can’t recommend Clove Island highly enough. The setting is stunning, right on a super quiet beach and so relaxing and zen. The design of the apartments is gorgeous, so much attention to detail, it felt like a serene beach house. The staff are all amazing, the manager really took time to make sure everyone enjoyed their stay, and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was gorgeous, and the rooms are immaculate - as well as the pool area. The location is probably not for everyone as it is very quiet with nothing really happening around. This was just what I was looking for but if you’re looking for something lively then another part of the island may suit better. The beach is not really for swimming I wouldn’t think, due to the tide. But great to watch all the locals fishing in the morning while the sun is rising. If you’re looking for relaxation and a little Island escape then there is no better place to do it, I’d book again in a heartbeat.

On arrival the Polish owner welcomed us. He seemed a genuine enough guy but we had hoped our money would have gone to people of Zanzibar - not a foreign owner. The accommodation was amazing - a bedroom and lounge/kitchenette. I think all the other accommodation are a similar set up. It was immaculately clean and decor was modern. The staff are amazing. Wonderful women who cleaned the rooms and came in every evening to spray for mosquitoes (was not bitten once!). Bar and kitchen staff could not do enough to help. Even made us a fish coconut curry (a favourite Swahili dish) on our last day. The food in the restaurant is good but could be improved with more local dishes, after all you’re in Zanzibar not Italy or England. Was a little disappointed to see female manager counting the money from the tip box at the bar and disappearing into the office with it. I sincerely hope the tips go DIRECTLY to staff. My advice - tip staff directly yourself. That way you know they get it. The beach is a little stony but when the tide is up it’s past the stones and swimming is great. Don’t worry about the seaweed. It won’t hurt! Internet is intermittent. But we were not interested in keeping in touch with the outside world constantly. Sit by the pool, take long walks on the beach, talk to the staff, they are connected to the island and its culture. This hotel gets a 7 out of 10.

Fin service av personalen och mycket vänliga. Lägenheten städades dåligt hela tiden. Möblerna stora och tunga i trä och tog upp stort plats i lägenheten. En stor fåtölj gick inte att sitta i. Möblerna gjorda från gamla träbåtar. Clove Island ligger lite isolerat och en plats man stannar på bara några dagar. Fyra dagar för oss var en dag för mycket. Bra service i restaurangen och trevlig personal, men varierande kvalitet på maten. Bra frukost!

Tout le personnel est au petit soin, des petits détails qui rendent le séjour encore plus agréable, lit ouvert et moustiquaire mise en place avant le coucher ainsi que fermeture des rideaux. Die Unterkunft inklusive Mitarbeiter ist super! Wir hatten die Jungle Villa und uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Essen war sehr gut. Alle waren äußerst bemüht. Einziges Manko: Das Meer zieht sich bei Ebbe sehr weit zurück. Dann ist es zwar spannend die ganzen Einheimischen beim Fischen und generell Arbeiten zu beobachten, schwimmen ist aber nur eine kurze Zeit möglich. Denn wenn das Wasser wiederkommt, ist erstmal Algenschmutz angesagt. Wir hatten das so nicht am Radar, das hat sich aber auch nicht negativ auf unseren Urlaub ausgewirkt.

Wir hatten das Glück unseren Honeymoon im Clove Islands Villas & Spa verbringen zu dürfen. Alles war fantastisch! Der perfekte Ort, um Urlaub zu machen. Es ist eine unglaublich schöne, saubere, gepflegte und ruhige Anlage. Das Personal ist zuvorkommen und für alle Fragen, Anliegen und Wünsche jederzeit mit einem herzlichen Lächeln für einen da. Die Appartments Bzw. Villas sind modern und ästhetisch mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Jedes Zimmer hat Ausblick auf den Ozean. Der Reinigungsdienst kommt zweimal täglich. Auch das Essen ist klasse! Es gibt verschiedene Spa-Anwendungen, die man auf der Dachterrasse mit Blick auf den indischen Ozean genießen kann. Wir haben uns die ganze Insel angeschaut und glauben, dass es keine bessere Hotelanlage für einen Urlaub auf Sansibar gibt! Wir wünschten, die Flitterwochen hätten kein Ende genommen. Absolute Oberliga!!! Sollten wir nochmal nach Sansibar kommen, werden wir definitiv wieder dort buchen. Leider können wir nur 5 Sterne vergeben….wenn wir könnten, würden wir mit 100 Sternen bewerten! Séjour parfait

Tout était magnifique ! Les chambres sont très belles et confortables, la vue de la baie vitrée est magnifique, il y a un spa, une piscine et un accès direct à la plage qui est déserte ! Le petit déjeuner est très complet et délicieux. La nourriture est variée et bien cuisinée. Le personnel est aux petits soins et toujours souriant. Le petit chaton de l’hôtel est adorable!

Dieses kleine aber sehr schicke Hotel ist Perfekt um sich zu erholen und den Alltag zu vergessen. Die Anlage generell ist sehr gepflegt und das Personal sehr freundlich. Makunduchi ist eine eher ruhigere Gegend auf Zanzibar und daher etwas abseits vom geschehen (Tourismus, Party, Verkäufern am Strand usw.). Für uns war dies Perfekt! Falls man doch mehr Action wollte lassen sich die nahegelegenen Ortschaften wie Paje schnell mit dem Taxi erreichen. Essen: wie so oft ist das Essen (leider) im Hotel an die europäischen Standards und Bedürfnisse der Gäste angepasst und das auch preislich. Es gab gute und weniger gute Gerichte. Aber das war absolut okay. Wir mussten auch ab und an Speisen zurückgehen lassen, da es kalt war, nicht durch oder einfach ein Teil vergessen wurde. Für richtig gutes und schmackhaftes lokales Essen lohnt es sich in den Städten oder Dörfern zu essen. Das Essen dort ist der wahnsinnig... Service: Das Personal ist überwiegend sehr freundlich und versucht keine Wünsche offen zu lassen. Sie sind sehr engagiert und aufmerksam. Eine kleine Ausnahme gibt es beim Service an der Bar. Während einige super Aufmerksam und auf Zack waren, gab es aber auch welche die eher morgen als heute die Bestellung aufnehmen 😉 Halb so wild...Auch die Besitzer waren hier sehr hilfsbereits in Bezug auf late Check Out, Empfehlungen für Aktivitäten usw... Wir haben sogar auf Wunsch eine Kokusnuss erhalten :) Villa: Wahsinns Ausblick und Einrichtung ist ideal. Sauberkeit ist OK😁

Fantastisk sted😊

Det var et super skøn og dejligt ophold. Fint værelse, rent og i orden. Maden var god og et virkelig sødt og i møde kommende personale. Stedet er et stille sted, men man kan tage diverse ture og få en på opleveren.

Bel établissement en petit comité

Le Clove Island est un bel établissement avec une belle piscine, bien entretenu avec un personnel local chaleureux et très serviable. Les managers sont aussi très réactifs et toujours à l'écoute pour répondre aux différentes demandes. On est ici dans un petit cocon car il y a peu de chambres/lodges et disons assez isolé de tout en étant situé dans un village. La mer est juste à côté mais pas praticable pour les baignades et la nage. Pour palier à ces inconvénients, des excursions sont proposées et des jeux de société sont à disposition tout comme un bar restaurant à l'intérieur. Le petit-déjeuner y est bon et de qualité mais les plats du restaurant sont en revanche en dessous et pourraient être améliorés tout comme les desserts.

SO SO Great!

We cannot say enough about the staff at Clove Island!! Management is on top of everything and service staff are outstanding. EVERYTHING is taken care of - all we had to do was enjoy our vacation. Very clean, food is great, and always felt safe. WIFI a little slow in the room, but faster in the restaurant. All units look onto the beach and the property is directly on the beach. You cannot go wrong booking here. We can't wait to return, staff felt like family after 10 days!
