Novotel Suites Malaga Centro

Feels weird to complain about the air con in winter but that’s what this post will be about. Location, comfort (bed/linen wise), room size, bathroom all exceeded expectations but it was hot. My family and I stayed for the period 23/12 -27/12/19. We expected it to be cool, so didn’t read too much into the air con issues raised by other travellers. But it was warm, day 25 degrees Celsius and in the high teens at night. With the big windows facing the sun, the room would easily reach the min 30s but there was no air con. We complained, management said it’s turned off for the winter, open a window, so we did. I am now covered in mosquito bites, which is not what I expect when I stay in a hotel with the Novotel name. So would I stay in this hotel again? No. I could not stay in the room during the day, thereby wiping out any chance of a siesta after an awesome long Spanish lunch, and all of my photos of my trip have me with large red mosquito bites on my face. There are 1000’s of hotels in Malaga, and Malaga is predominately warm in winter and Hot in Summer, find somewhere else with proper Air Conditioning.
