"The place was exactly as advertised and we could not be happier with our unit and time there. Clean, well appointed and built with top quality. I would love to return! The only advice I could share is to put room numbers on the outside of the units...it was hard to locate what unit we were in..we just had to try to find the unlocked unit. We met two other guest that were there that said the same.....just a trial an error to find one that was unlocked. "

"My stay was conveniently located and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and the location was everything. My room was really clean and the checkin was extremely easy. "

"We loved being directly on the beach in this super exclusive respite. While the area is rustic, the apt. was very clean and very comfortable. We slept soundly in the comfy bed amongst the waves crashing below. Felt safe with the cameras and key locks. Perfect for a staycation or writers retreat. "

"We booked Surf Rider based on the strong reviews, especially the repeated mentions of great hospitality-but unfortunately, our experience didn't reflect that at all. The rooms are extremely small, and the noise from PCH is constant and very loud, making it difticult to relax or sleep. I asked if there was any possibility of moving to a quieter room, but the only option offered was to pay an additional $450-$1000, which felt unreasonable. We were also staying here to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and there was no acknowledgment whatsoever—no small gesture or even a simple mention, which was disappointing given the hotel's reputation for hospitality. The front desk representative look at us like we had four heads when mentioned the celebration. Overall, for the price point, I expected a much more comfortable and thoughtful experience. This stay fell short. Very disappointed we chose this over the Malibu Beach Inn who actually provides a getaway experience reflective of the price point. There’s not a rogue one or a robe."

"What a beautiful location and condo. Great location. Condo was well stocked with towels, bedding and necessities. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a beach rental. I’ll be back. "

"While we enjoyed staying on the beach, we are disappointed that the owner changed the unit we had rented and moved us to another unit. The caretaker told us that the people who rented the unit were so supposed to have wanted to stay longer. It was wrong to give our unit to a renter who decided to stay and didn’t want to move. This situation made us feel undervalued as guests, and it disrupted our vacation plans. We had looked forward to staying in the original unit, and the unexpected change negatively impacted our experience.The unit we were given lacked furniture. We had to take two stools from the kitchen to put our luggage on. The table was spattered with white paint. We did not bring any food nor did we cook any food. Glad we didn’t plan to as there were ants on the walls, floor, and in the sinks. Out of a three night stay we only had “warm “ water one morning for a shower. We could get it in the afternoon but that didn’t help. Very, very disappointed!"
