"This hotel offered us the quintessential Halstatt (one night) experience. Pleasant, excellent location; the room was situated with a jaw dropping view over the lake. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful."

"The hotel was exceptionally quiet, clean, and comfortable. The views from both our southwest and southeast windows were stunning. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There’s also a small, well-stocked grocery store conveniently located across the street. Parking is limited, but an overflow lot is available within a short 100-meter walk. If you’re arriving by train (Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen Bahnhof), expect about a 10-minute walk to the hotel. Note that there’s no elevator in this two-story property."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. A chalet with a lot of character. Clean and comfortable. Lovely kitchen. Obertraun is a lovely Alpine village away from the bustle of Hallstatt. Ideal for those looking to stay in a quiet place and engage in outdoor activities like hiking, cycling etc. in the surrounding areas. Very responsive and competent management."

"A great place to stay with stunning views. There's a bus stop at the entrance so it's easy to get to Dachstein Krippenstein and Hallstatt. There's also a wharf close by with two transport options. The mini-market in the resort is well stocked with plenty of options for self-catering. The staff were very friendly and helpful and restaurant food was excellent."

"This property is beautiful, however be aware that you need to pay for every little thing once on site. If you run out of soap, dishwasher pods, want clean towels, or in our case, need more toilet paper, it all costs extra. I don’t mind having to pay for some things, but I’ve never been asked to pay for toilet paper anywhere else in the world and I have to say, it slightly soured my experience. The property is beautiful and the staff were great, I just think for the price I should not have to buy my own toilet paper. "
