Perfect Vacation

The Villa speaks for itself with its spectacular views and ample space. What we found to be the true star/bonus to this Villa is its house manager Camine. If you’re looking for someone who turns a good trip into an unforgettable vacation, with exclusive, royal like, treatment on any of his excursions, look no further. Lovely home on the Sorrento peninsula

Great property, very helpful manager, cooked 2 meals at the house that were incredible. Lots of nearby places that are tucked away from the usual Amalfi coast or Sorrento hubbub. Would highly recommend.

What a great property - best view of any property I have stayed.

The view never got old. Bedrooms were nice and provided privacy. Outdoor eating sweet. Rosario kept the place spotless. 100% met my expectations!!’nn

Beautiful home and postcard setting. Rent a small vehicle as road to house is tight.

House manager Carmine was super helpful and he provided info whenever we needed anything. I hope to return to this property again.

Stunning villa

Five stars all the way. The location made for a quiet vacation yet the local restaurants provided pick up and drop off service so we weren't completely isolated without a car. Carmine and Katarina were excellent at their jobs.

We had two families and our mom stay at this beautiful property and it was fantastic. The pictures don’t do it justice. Absolutely loved our stay and Carmine was soooo helpful in planning activities and our stay. Loved every minute.

The Best Place We Stayed In Italy

We stayed in VRBOs in Lake Como (Rezzonico), Florence and this property on our trip and we definitely saved the best for last (Mass Lubresne). The Villa is spectacular, a perfect size for our group of 8 with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The views were amazing, a great pool, and they villa was cleaned daily. The location was also terrific, remote so we had a lot of privacy but within 15-25 minutes of anywhere we wanted to go. As great as the property itself was, Carmine, who is the property manager, was even better. He helped arrange tours/excursions, transportation, massages and restaurant reservations. He was on top of everything, a real joy to work with. If you are spending time in Sorrento/Amalfi coast and you have a group of 8-10 people, this is a great place to stay.

AMAZING pre-wedding weekend

I can not overstate how incredible this stay was! From the beautiful views, to the roomy and spacious house (we comfortably slept 13 people!), to the house manager Carmine - everything was amazing!! We had travelled all day from Lake Como and Carmine had a chef prepare a delicious dinner for us right in the house so we didn't have to worry about getting ready and finding a place to eat. Carmine also arranged all of our transportation for the weekend which was a HUGE help. He set up a private boat tour for the day around Capri and helped us with dinner reservations or delivery each night. Really, it was a wonderful experience and we can not wait to come back!!

We had a great stay at Calliope's Mansion. The villa is exactly as described on the website and looks even better in person than it does in the pictures. Carmine could not have been more helpful and arranged everything for us from transfers from the airport, trips to Pompeii, boat trips, dinner in local restaurants. He came in and cooked for the whole group on two occasions. Even though the villa is so remote it didnt feel like you couldnt go out and explore the local area. He was always very responsive and things were quickly organised the night before or the day of.

Great host and really nice house

We were a group of 11 and the house couldn't be more comfortable. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, the views are gorgeous and Carmine was amazing in organizing a boat ride through the Amalfi Coast for us and getting a last minute transfer back to Naples. If I had to say something negative, it would be about the road to get there. We rented 2 large cars to fit everyone and it was kind of stressful to get in and out of the house. So if you have multiple drivers in your group, go for multiple small cars! I definitely recommend the house and cannot wait to come back!

A Beautiful Jewel!

Ciao Luca! Thank you for sharing your amazing villa with us. Everything was perfect- and Carmine was a blessing. He took great care of us, and helped to make our adventure all the better. Beautiful, beautiful- I am already missing waking up with the Aegean out my balcony. You truly have a gem! To potential renters, use Google coordinates to property, they bring you right to door. This property is great for large groups, plenty of space and spectacular views in every direction.

We absolutely loved our family vacation on the Amalfi Coast. The villa is beautiful with spectacular views, but we would have been lost without Carmine the house manager. The villa is located in a very remote area at the end of a steep, narrow, winding road. Without transportation you would be stuck. Carmine was incredible arranging all of our rides, excursions, and even cooking an amazing dinner for the 9 of us. We loved the old style of the villa, but think some bathroom renovations are needed. The villa comes with a sweet mascot, Coffee, the local dog that greets you everyday. Wonderful family memories were made this week. Wish the weather was warmer so that we could have enjoyed the numerous terraces and the pool more!!

Beyond expectations!!!!

This stay was rescheduled twice due to Covid-19 (thank you to Luca for being so accommodating!), and it finally happened in May/June 2022. My family and I knew the villa would be nice because of the pictures and reviews, but seeing it in person really is a different experience. The views are breathtaking and the property manager Carmine really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was stress-free and comfortable, and the activities he arranged for us were everything we were hoping for (and more). The villa is tucked away in a small community just down the coast from all of the busy tourist hustle and bustle, and we really felt as if we could truly relax. Our housekeeper worked hard every day to keep the villa spotless. We could have stayed a month! Thank you, Luca, Carmine and Rosaria for an absolutely fantastic stay.

Four couples in heaven.

All I can say is that the property’s pictures sold us in the first place, and the reality is much much better. It is heaven! The views are to die for on many patios, on multiple levels. The interior is perfectly appointed. The one lane driveway is the only thing you will need to get used to. It’s tough to explain, but you will start with a feeling of confused dizziness, but it changes to insane belly laughs very quickly. Luca worked with us through a myriad of forced schedule changes because of Covid over 19 months. Thank you. Housekeeping was wonderful, thank you! And Carmine helped us plan many of our scheduled trips and restaurant reservations, and always pulled through with rave reviews. He even prepared dinner on site for one of the most memorable evenings of our trip. Thank you so much! We can't wait to return!

Perfecto!

We traveled as a large family ! 7 adults and 6 children. We enjoyed every minute of our stay ! The villa was perfect. The views are indescribable! Our family loved to spend time at the pool. The water was warm and sparkling clean. The villa rooms were spacious and comfortable. The outdoor living space was breathtakingly beautiful. Carmine was so helpful and responded ASAP to any questions we had. He was a wonderful resource to have when planning our daily activities. And we absolutely recommend having him come to the villa and cook for your family ! We had a delicious homemade dinner on our outdoor patio ! Caterina came every morning to clean , freshen up the villa and re stock things that were needed. She is so wonderful ! There is a little shop at the bottom of the road where you can buy fresh made pasta. Highly recommend! No complaints. A truly magical place to stay. Thank you Calliope’s Mansion for treating our family to a perfect Italian Vacation.

Stunning Amalfi Villa

This villa and its views were more breathtaking and beautiful than pictured. This home is truly one of the most beautiful vrbo properties I have ever rented, and I have rented many! Our group of nine (7 adults and 2 teenagers) were very comfortable. We all had plenty of space and privacy, and all the necessary amenities were provided in each room (air conditioning, towels, beauty supplies, hair dryer, etc.). Carmine arranged all transportation for our arrival/departure and outings, as well as shopping in advance for us for groceries and wine, and arranging to have dinner made for our group on the night of our arrival. Our group has lovely memories (and photos) of socializing and being together in the beautiful pool area and on the terraces. The location is quite remote though, and the closest town (Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi) is not as walkable from the house as we had hoped. (The main road is narrow and has quite a bit of traffic, even early in the morning, so walking into town was a bit harrowing). For those with car(s), this would not be an issue. Overall, the beauty of this property and the wonderful supportive team who were there to help make this property a amazing place for an Amalfi vacation.

The views, the service, the layout, the meal, the hospitality! Incredible!

There were 13 of us at peak, 8 adults, 1 teenager, 4 children between 9 and 12yrs of age. This place was just perfectly to our taste, and the layout worked. First of all, the planning pre-arrival was perfect, even though I was not entirely on top of everything, Carmine was. We had organised 3 day-trips one to Capri, one to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and one to Pompeii and Vesuvius. All flawlessly executed and we had a great driver or set of drivers for all. Then we had an evening meal at home one evening - simply delicious, cooked by Carmine himself and his crew, and other days we relaxed by the pool or went off to St Agata or Sorrento. This villa is just so cosy that we immediately felt at home in it. And certainly Carmine and Caterina (who came to clean daily) made us feel even more so. (One small correction to the listing - there is not a TV in each bedroom, at least not when we were there). We are regulars in Italy and this was one of the best! My 11 year old nephew suggested we buy the place, as he wants us to come back to this house every year, so Luca beware! :-) Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.

Heavenly Views in Italy

We were a group of 9 friends who came to the Amalfi Coast to explore and enjoy. Calliopi Mansion did not disappoint! It is very nice Italian property (not a modern unauthentic place) with plenty of space and amenities. There were numerous patios, a great (very clean) swimming pool looking out over the sea, and plenty of dining space. We took advantage of Carmine, the property manager's, expertise and it was well worth it. Carmine arranged transportation to and from airport, boat rides to Amalfi and Capri, a cooking class, transportation to Ravello and a local winery, guides in Pompeii and Herculaneum, transportation to Sorrento to dine/shop and some in villa cooked meals. ALL of this went off without a hitch. He was very accommodating and his choice of drivers, guides and boat skipper were fantasic. We enjoyed it all. As stated in other reviews, the property is remote. It is not in the center of a town and has a long drive up to access. With that said, you cannot beat the quiet and views of this place. However, you should plan to use Carmine to schedule all of your activities or you will most likely run into issues and walking up and down a long and quite narrow drive to reach transportation services that aren't willing to go up the drive. Would not recommend this. Also, when you arrive, Carmine arranges cars to take up your luggage and you to the villa. So highly recommend this villa, but make your visit perfect by using Carmines services. Maid service daily.

What can I say but......AMAZING!

The Villa was an absolute delight to visit (even with the exhilarating ride up the narrow, windy, bumpy road LOL). All rooms, outdoor areas, etc. exactly as pictured. Our stay wouldn't have been as wonderful without the man of all talents, Carmine and his trusty sidekick, Rosa. Anything and everything we asked of Carmine was taken care of, with his guidance on certain "asks" that we should re-consider. His cooking was outstanding, his sense of humor excellent (especially with our group), his daily reminders of next day activities very much appreciated. Restaurant suggestions didn't disappoint....he even met up with us on our way back from a long day of touring to guide our driver to a take-out pizza place (we were craving pizza). He's literally everywhere and ready to help. Rosa is as sweet as can be.......worked hard every day making sure everything was in order, tidied up and clean.....all with a big smile on her face. She was also an excellent assistant to Carmine on the day he held our cooking class at the villa. Even though the Amalfi Coast has alot to offer as far as sightseeing, I could have spent every day outside at the pool or on one of the large patios just gazing at the beautiful view of the water. Definitely one of a kind, special place to spend with close friends and family! Until next time......Ciao! Molte, molte grazie!!

Absolutely beautiful!

Cannot beat the view! Looks just as portrayed in the photos in description. The property looked and felt larger than depicted, which was an absolute wow when we arrived and got a quick tour. More than enough room for our group and comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen, and loved the availability of A/C, especially with the heat. The manager, Carmine, was outstanding with communication and organization prior to arrival. As long as you have WhatsApp, super easy to communicate. Some information may have been slightly lost in translation, but overall, Carmine was an outstanding source, and made our preparation smooth and easy. The main downside of the property itself (though maybe not everyone would find this a downside) is the isolated location. Granted, to get that view, you must be in a special location, but it made any kind of travel and food plans and complicated. No easy access to supermarkets or restaurants, and even with transportation provided for some tours we booked separately, we still ended up walking up and down that long winding hill to get to transports. Everything arranged through Carmine was easy and those transports came up to the villa, but in this location, you can't just decide to go out for dinner at the last minute. That is one thing that the Vrbo description didn't really explain-the isolated location. Overall, outstandingly beautiful location and super helpful manager in Carmine and well maintained. Would recommened to anyone, but remember isolation.

Keeping my promise

Dear Maria thanks for your Christmas card. We all appreciated it very much. You are right, I promised to write a review on your rental property, and I am happy to keep this promise, here it is. John and I rented Calliope’s Mansion on June 2013 to celebrate our 40 year of marriage with our sons and their families. A party of 12 people. The idea was to bring our whole family back to our roots in Italy and make a celebrationin Sorrento. The villa is very charming. It has so many beautiful terraces and viewpoints. My favourite was the breakfast terrace. I remember how much I loved to eat Cornetti and "pasticcini amareni", while looking to the luxurious yachts arriving down to Nerano Bay. Bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable. John and I selected the queen sized suite with nice balcony facing south, and left the others to the rest of our family. We liked so much to look to the sea laying in the bed. All other rooms are very nice, wide and with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are nice but not so big. Living and dining rooms are beautiful and show the typical taste of italian style. The kitchen is also very Italian: well equipped and furnished with elegant dishes and ancient silverware. The pool area is above any expectation. Beautiful, equipped with bar and fridge and immersed in the olive trees. All this right in front of the sea. We loved to be there at any hour of the day and also to prepare food at the kitchenette and lunch at the pool table. Maria and Luca were of great help both in arranging all details before and during our stay. Their suggestions were always valuable and appropriate. They suggested to rent a Gozzo boat with sailor to go Capri and Positano, instead of hydrofoil. This was really a plus for our vacation. We all enjoyed very much our time at Calliope’s mansion and I can definitively recommend Maria and her property for a great stay in Italy. Angela & John
